N800 Questions from a Newb ..
Hello Ladies and Gents ..
BeerBong from symbian-freak.com here .. i was one of the lucky people to get invited to CES AND i was lucky enough to meet your very own Reggie (who btw is a great guy!!) so since i'm a real newb on internet tablets, i have a few, hopefully easy questions, maybe you guys can help me a bit: 1. Is it possible to connect my N800 to my N73 via BT and browse via GRPS/3G then on the N800? Wifi Coverage is near zero here in austria, and if it's available in some shops/mcdonalds, you have to pay for it  but i get my own wifi at home in the next 2 weeks .. 2. Are there ANY applications/themes already which i can download for the N800? 3. Am i the only guy havin probs with the mails? ... when i wanna open the mail application, it says it's loading but then nothing happens .. this happens in nearly 50% of all the tries i do to open it, which kinda bores me :( that's it so far .. i hope you guys can help me a little - Reggie, you're running a very cool site here .. Regards Michael aka BB |

Badger from MR and AAS here ;)
1) I have been using my n800 with both my n73 and an n95 I borrowed. The setup is really easy, Nokia have used the operator information from the Symbian Settings Wizard and the connection wizard is very easy to use. Once the devices are paired, the also appear with in the file manager allowing you to view the files and folders from the device. This includes images, videos & music - great for viewing the pics after a day out. 2) There are some apps which have been complied with the new SDK, and some of the 2006 apps also work. Its only a matter of time before the 2006 catalogue gets updated to work on the n800. http://test.maemo.org/applications/ http://maemo.org/maemowiki/ApplicationRepositories 3)Not using the device for email... Enjoy :) PM for more assistance. badger |
Re: N800 Questions from a Newb ..
thanks very much for the fast reply badger!
i really like the N800, FUNtastic device, i enjoy it really .. i've already seen that my N73 is in the file manager in the BT folder, but didn't manage how to get the connection work to browse the www .. unfortunately my provider isn't listed on the network list, which is kinda lame, cause i'm on the biggest austrian mobile phone provider .. thanks for your tips so far, i'm gonna try them tomorrow morning and keep you updated about results! :) |
