Re: How to reflash N900 in Windows 7 64bit
The only way I got it to work was to use ubuntu and win7.
I would flash the eMMC with ubuntu then the FIASCO using win7. Neither one would do both. Irritation as all heck! |
Re: How to reflash N900 in Windows 7 64bit
I reflashed my n900 on my win7 x64 ultimate.
Here is how to flash N900 on windows 7 64 bit. Download : http://sourceforge.net/projects/libu...0.zip/download extract it somewhere. Run : /bin/inf-wizard.exe It will show devices that has not drivers on pc. Your beloved N900 must be included in the list, it will list there if you ever connected your N900 to pc in "update mode" once ( U button situation. ). Choose N900 and click next. Click next one more time. Save the inf file. Right after saving inf file, click on Install now.. Click continue anyway. And finish the process. That's it, now you should be able to reflash your N900 like you are on a 32 bit OS! :) |

Re: How to reflash N900 in Windows 7 64bit
In that case you can't install a virtual XP box on it.
Your best best is to use a linuxLiveCD to boot from - easily created, Google it, to create a one time boot disk. Once you have booted into the Linux environment you will be able to flash your phone without issue. |
Re: How to reflash N900 in Windows 7 64bit
thanks for the info :) and any answers for those problems what i have mentioned?

Re: How to reflash N900 in Windows 7 64bit
You will need to flash both the fiasco image and also the eMMC image - I take it you *had* NITDroid installed as you are flashing with Mido.Fayad's fiasco image - and the only reason for this (as far as I'm aware) is to allow you to install NITDroid. On this basis I would guess that you either went to uninstall or upgrade your NITDroid install and instead of cleaning out only the Android /home you also cleaned out your own Maemo /home, resulting in your reboot loops and the black screen with purple bar.
I'm surprised that you managed to flash fiasco successfully from a 64bit W7 install to be honest, as 64bit W7 is supposed to be incompatible with Maemo-Flasher. Seriously, Linux LiveCD to boot from and flash both fiasco and eMMC without rebooting in between them. The reboot switch is the Code:
-RThis should clear up any problems that you have, but will lose all the data you have in your phone. And I know it's tempting, but NITDroid is not for people who are not massively technically minded. It takes a modicum of expertise to install, uninstall, apply fixes, set up APN's, etc etc so if you are not that way inclined, my best advice to you is to leave it well alone.... |
Re: How to reflash N900 in Windows 7 64bit
thanks a lot bro for ur solution :) .yea ur right i did some stupid things with nitdrioid.even before i installed nitdrioid i had this problem of rebboting and other stuffs.

Re: How to reflash N900 in Windows 7 64bit
Strangest problem, and I still haven't figured out how to fix it. Found a workaround though...
On my main desktop I'm running Win7 32bit with all the latest updates installed. I tried flashing my N900 to give it a fresh start, and I figured I should flash both the fiasco and emmc. The strange problem was that the fiasco worked perfectly with just the flasher installed. Flashing the emmc however failed every time, no matter what I tried. I disabled driver signing, I installed libusb and loaded custom drivers (the N900 showed in device manager), I even installed the latest Nokia Software Updater and tried updating the firmware through it. I also tried installing the fiasco followed by emmc (wrong order, but I just wanted to see if it would do something), I tried installing the emmc followed by the fiasco. NOTHING worked. I did not try installing Windows XP mode on the desktop, or a linux bootable CD because I had another workaround. I booted my old windows XP 32bit computer, installed flasher, flashing emmc and fiasco worked perfectly. The strangest thing is that about half a year ago I flashed my N900 on this exact same Windows 7 32Bit computer and it worked perfectly. My guess is that one of Microsoft's updates somehow messed up the USB system, bringing it inline with the Windows 7 64bit version. |
Help me out guys!!!!!
guys got the same prob again.i could not use the emcc in a XP machine too.tried
Flasher - 3.5.exe -F emcc.bin -f after executing the command , while pressing 'u' in n900 i connected usb into n900.but after detecting again it went back to waiting for suitable device .i am frustrated .my phone is giving all the mentioned problems despite of Updating FIASCO.. i am getting Device memory full error .i have 4.46 gb app memory + 23 gb free. guys help me out. |

Re: How to reflash N900 in Windows 7 64bit
Did you try flashing a different kernel in between
That helped me to finally get the emmc flashed... Basically it's flashing PR1.3 then kernel from PR1.2 then EMMC and finally the PR1.3 kernel again. Here's a small How to... First of all you need two firmware images PR1.2 and PR1.3 for example Code:
• PR1.3 = RX-51_2009SE_20.2010.36-2_PR_COMBINED_MR0_ARMThen you need a matching emmc image (PR1.3_original or a custom image file for bigger apps partition) Code:
• PR1.3 RX-51_2009SE_10.2010.13-2.VANILLA_PR_EMMC_MR0_ARM.bin Code:
flasher-3.5 -F RX-51_2009SE_20.2010.36-2_PR_COMBINED_MR0_ARM.bin -fCode:
flasher-3.5 -F RX-51_2009SE_10.2010.19-1_PR_COMBINED_MR0_ARM.bin --flash-only=kernel -fCode:
flasher-3.5 -F RX-51_2009SE_10.2010.13-2.VANILLA_PR_EMMC_MR0_ARM.bin -f:cheers: ..::J4ZZ::.. |

How to get N900 flasher to work in Windows 7 64-bit (x64). Install Flasher 3.5 - http://tablets-dev.nokia.com/maemo-d...-downloads.php Download libusb-win32-bin-1.2.2.0.zip - http://sourceforge.net/projects/libusb-win32/ Press U while starting N900 and attach USB Wait for the original driver to install. Run inf-wizard.exe (bin folder in zip) - Run as Administrator Press "Next" Search in list and select "0x0421 - 0x0105 - Nokia N900 (Update Mode)" Press "Next" Press "Next" Save .inf file Press "Install Now" Press "Install this driver software anyway" on warning message. You should get "Installation successful." and press OK. Check Windows Device Manager for "libusb-win32 devices", expand and verify "Nokia N900 (Update Mode)" can be found. Now you are ready to run Flasher 3.5 with your parameters. works like charm ... confirmed working |
Re: How to reflash N900 in Windows 7 64bit

Re: How to reflash N900 in Windows 7 64bit
Try to unplug -> start flasher with --kernel only from 2nd step... when "wait for suitable usb device" -> then connect again with u-key holding.... -> when kernel is flashed successfully -> try emmc again... the device should not reboot between these steps... leave the -R out !
It worked fine this way on a 64bit machine running win7 and latest libusb drivers... good luck |
Re: How to reflash N900 in Windows 7 64bit
i started from step 2.
but after step 2.i uexecuted step 3 in same window.failed again |
Re: How to reflash N900 in Windows 7 64bit
the process i followed a few failed on me for the first couple of times, then worked just fine, flashed both my N900s (fiasco and emmc) with not problem.
and as j4zz said leave the -R out, it should never reboot in between :) |
