Hi kaput,

I had exactly the same problem, solved it by setting the correct value in calendar/config.ini :
The "syncevolution -c funambol" -command defaults to an incorrect value for N900 with the latest build.

I used to sync successfully for a couple of weeks but now I receive the follogin error-message:

[ERROR] http://server_url:8080/funambol/ds via libsoup: Not Found

Any ideas appreciated!

I assume the best way to get help is to fill out a new bug:

You should also provide you exact configuration of server and client and also say what you did exactly. Also a client and server log file is helpful.

I filled in a bug-report at meego, as you suggested. Result: HTTP Status 404 - /funambol/ds, the requested resource (/funambol/ds) is not available. The server cannot be accessed although I can ping the server. I ran the funambol installer again but I can still not access http://server_url:8080/funambol/ds.
Any ideas?

MFE is working with NuevaSync!

and NuevaSync is free.....an not sure if everybody knew.

U don't need SyncEvolution....I don't think.

Yes, MfE works with nuevasync, but in my case i would like to have google and corporate mail synced, but i cannot do both with mfe, so its trade off. If i could sync google or nueva with syncevolution and my corporate mail and calendar with mfe it would be perfect.

I found out that our IT department changed the IP address of the server. Port 8080 is still accessible but
http://server_url:8080/funambol/ds
returns an error message. I restarted the server and funambol but it still does not work. How can I analyze the problem?

Hi

This seems very interesting - the inability to synchronise calendar over IP is one of the major drawbacks of the n900.
What I need is to sync with Oracle Calendar (directly, not via google or the like).
I have installed Syncevoltion with GUI, and there is a Oracle tab, that I tried to fill in with the relevant informatin, but it didn't work:(
Anybody got this to work?
And if so, how;)
Can I just use the GUI, or do I need to do some magic in a terminal?

Sorry, but I am still trying to get sync between my N900 and a new server setup to work. Never ending story. Sync between evolution running on my laptop and the server works but N900<->server produces the following error messages:

The network connection N900<->server is estabished via usb. I can ping the server from the N900. After a couple of minutes, however, pinging is not possible anymore. Maybe, some energy saving mode blocks the connection?

Any ideas?

I guess you're using the gui. It auto capitalises the username and password, for Google the password is case sensitive so check if that;s the problem, it was for me and I felt so stupid when I noticed!

i tried syncing my contacts with funambol and it looks like it works wel except for the pictures. i have pictures assigned to 80% of my contacts and they aren't syned to funambol.

after that i tried syncing to Google and no pictures there either. is syncevolution able to sync the pictures? anyone have a working setup?

After weeks of strugling, I got syncevolution work with Oracle Beehive.

I have tried to setup a Google sync but it fails. Standard installation and I chose the Google template. Entered my credentials (with correct capitalisation).
First sync with only contacts enabled works. When enabling calendar sync fails with "Error 404".
I enabled the calendar sync, entered calendar database as "<firstname> <lastname>" as it is listed as in the webbrowser(Google). I have tried all the options "Normal sync", "Slow sync", ...

Just for testing I changed the Contacts database from "contacts" to "contactss" and disabled calendar sync. Then I got the Error 404 again. So what is wrong. Am I entering the wrong name as my Google calendar database?

Google does not provide SyncML for calendar, only for contacts.

Has someone been able to solve this yet?

I have the same problem when trying to sync to Oracle calendar at my work.

I have tried to edit config.ini to remove SSL checking - then I get "smlProcessData failed, returned 0x2012" instead.


Also in my case there is no problem with verifying the SSL certificate from a browser and there is also a webcalendar client that works just fine from the device.

If my instructions there doesn't work, then perhaps more investigation is needed, but I know atleast on our company setup, those steps works, including SSL communication.

You need to have your beehive administrator to *ALLOW* your syncevolution as client for beehive in 1st place, without that, all efferts are just waste of time.

Web-browser accepting SSL certificate has nothing to do with curl, which is low level library under syncevolution handling SSL traffic.

excellent point! I wish Nokia can read this We bought Maemo products to stay away from Microsoft products! And I believe a lot of us want easier integration with our linux desktop. Nonetheless linux users are a resourceful bunch, we make a way for the benefits of the whole community.

Do you really think that vendors putting linux in a wifi-router do it for better integration with the linux desktop?

No, and nor do Nokia.

Nb, it pisses me off too - but there is a syncevolution mailing list out there with more news :)

Hey, thanks. I doubt that our sysadmins would be glad to change anything in their setup so unfortunately I guess I'll have to go without syncing my calendars this way, at least for the time being.

Hi All,

I've just installed this app.

I've set up a and I'm trying to do a normal sync

At the moment when ever I start the sync it looks like it's going to do something then I get an error message.
"synchronization failed"

Is there a way I can fix this or find out what the actual error is?

I seem to be hainvg trouble with this as well, and simply changing the type in /home/user/.config/syncevolution/default/sources/calendar/config.ini doesn't change my results. I still get a 22001. Anything I'm missing?

EDIT:

I've figured this out to an extent, thanks to the SyncEvolution mailing list.
For Calendar, type must be set to

i just spent a few hours tracking down a problem and thought i'd share my insights so others can look it up here :)

i was unsuccessfully trying to sync against a kolab groupware server (which uses horde3 as client interface, including the syncml part). the items from the N900 would show up on the server, but nothing arrived on the N900.
digging into the logs, i found this hint:
this led me to a bug filed against the moblin bugzilla (i'm guessing this is due to the meego transition), which says that if the deviceId starts with "sc-pim-", horde will treat the client in a special compatibility - mode for old funambol clients.

syncevolution on the n900 doesn't like this much, so the fix is to change your deviceId to something custom like tarek does in his howto. the default installation of syncevolution currently in -testing will choose a deviceId starting with "sc-pim-".
not sure if its worth filing another bug for this, because changing it would apparently break compatibility with myFunambol...

Hi all

I try to synchronise with an egroupware server.
Did anybody success on that?

I set my own egroupserver up and it seems to work.
Then I configured syncevolution (1.0.0).

I can synchronise my addressbook with "two-way" and it works fine.
I also can synchronise my calendora with "refresh-from-server", but not any of the other ways. It seems, as soon as the phone wants to send something to the server, it gets an error:

I started to use the MfE with google, but always after some days the calendar did not want to sync anymore, so I had to do a full sync.
Because it started to annoy me, I invested the 15$ and am now again a happy nuevasync user.

In the beginning i put Refresh from client and later normal

leave rest to default
and do the sync:) but definately take a backup before that:D

Thanks for the settings, drangina.

With your settings I get the error 20043. When I change the SyncURL to https I get the error 401.

Am I doing something wrong?
