N800 and Google Talk not accepting credentials
Hi,
I had a Google Talk account and when I try using that on the N800 it always fails to login. I've tried the gmail.com and googlemail.com suffix. Was wondering if anyone else has had similar issues. thanks Adam |
Re: N800 and Google Talk not accepting credentials
No problems like this for me.
I've got a gmail.com account, and i'm able to log in, use chat, or voice with no problems. Are you sure you give it the good password, take care of caps ? Do you use special caracters ? |
Re: N800 and Google Talk not accepting credentials
I know I was entering in my user/pass correctly. I tested it on a few other PCs. Not sure what it was, but it finally worked for me last night.
In general the google talk/chat solution seems a bit flaky. Anyone try making SIPs calls yet via the 'service' buddy in googel talk? Adam |

FWIW gmail itself works fine for me. I noticed though that I must close the browser before I try logging in again (or change to another account), emptying the cookies too seems to be good.

Check that your region and Clock settings are correct. This may help sometimes.

Re: N800 and Google Talk not accepting credentials
If you are logged in to Gmail anywhere else, your PC for instance, you will encounter problems logging in on the N800.

Re: N800 and Google Talk not accepting credentials
Texrat: I have no problems being logged in to gmail at the same time from my PC and my N800. I'm permanently logged in on two different accounts on my desktop computer, and I can access both accounts on the N800 (one at the time), with no problems (except what I mentioned that it seems to be necessary to stop the opera browser and start a new one between switching gmail accounts). I've also accessed gmail from my laptop while on mission, and at the same time being logged in on my desktop computer. When I get back to the office the gmail screen is in complete sync with the N800 (or laptop) screen, i.e. read/unread etc. is up-to-date with whatever happened on either computer.

Re: N800 and Google Talk not accepting credentials
The mystery is getting curioser.
1. I culd connect at home but NOT at ANY of the 15 free networks around me at work. 2. EVen though i cannot connect at work, it still refreshes the RSS feed! wonder whats going wrong? |
Re: N800 and Google Talk not accepting credentials
Today there was a problem with the network at work, I got the question mark occasionally and it was on and off if I could see anything through the browser. The rss feed occasionally worked though. Checked with a laptop w/wi-fi, it also had problems. Walked to another building, no wi-fi problems. Sysadm suggested I should cycle the power on all wi-fi AP's I could find on my way back to the office.. did that, problem solved. :-)

Re: N800 and Google Talk not accepting credentials
whats a wifi AP?
|
Re: N800 and Google Talk not accepting credentials
wireless Access Point, device that provide wireless network
|
Re: N800 and Google Talk not accepting credentials
but a wifi access point is not mine. how can i refresh it?
|
Re: N800 and Google Talk not accepting credentials
You can't, if it isn't yours.. but my experience today just shows that sometimes mystical network problems can be caused by the access point, there doesn't necessarily have to be anything wrong with (in this case) the N800.
