Newbie question: third party repositories

Hi folks.

I really like the look of some of the software listed on my-maemo.com. I have added their repository using the details listed on their site, but the software doesn't appear in the app manager. Do I need to use apt-get instead? All help appreciated!

Re: Newbie question: third party repositories

The software listed on my-maemo is software hosted here and it's mostly in the extras-testing repository.

Please provide useful repos for N900

Can someone provide useful repos for must have applications?

Re: Please provide useful repos for N900

There are already useful repos, the most important is Maemo.org Extras. Many of the must have apps are there, and it should be in your N900 by default.

I'd like to use debian repositories. Is it possible? How can I do it?

Through Easy Debian, which provides a chroot-ed Debian image from where you can access the hardware without tampering with the OS of the N900. See this thread: http://talk.maemo.org/showthread.php?t=34550
