call forwarding
call forwarding ....major issue!
i have only 2 options: to forward if "no answer in 20 minutes, busy or unavailable" or not to forward!!! one needs a wider range of options is there a bug report somewhere that i could vote for? also ... i confirm something i read on a thread ... with call waiting on ... if i'm on a sip call and i receive a gsm call ... i get a gsm call notification, but the call is disconnected after the firts beep |
Re: call forwarding
It is more simple.
You just need to install "Call forwarding applet" from extras-devel. New menu will be available in settings.... |
Re: call forwarding
thanks ... installed the applet
i have it in settings but it doesn't seem to work do i need to disable the call forwarding from phone? i disabled call forwarding if i don't answer the call ... and it still forwards the call i'll play with the settings ... |
Re: call forwarding
It seems that you do not have to do anything with the native forwarding settings. I use the extras Call Fowarding now and it seems to work fine.
Someone correct me if the Call Forwarding applet does not over ride the native settings. |
Re: call forwarding
HELP !!!
I want to turn the call forwarding on my N900 off. But it does not do this. Every time if I go to phone call forwarding I can say no and save. But if I open settings -> phone again its turned on again. This is costing me a lot of money. Also if I use the call forwarding applet I cannot turn it off. |

Where this setting comes from I do not know. I have a Nokia N91 but this phone does not have a option to do call forwarding. Also called my Provider ( Vodafone NL) and they are saying that the call forward is coming from the phone.. I Really need help with this. It is really costing me money. For some reason every incomming cal is forwarded to a number that does not exist. What the number is is also unknown. If there is no option to fix this I have to stop using my N900 ( I dont want to ). :(:( I already flashed the phone serveral times (Also the eMMC ) but nothing helps |
Re: call forwarding
I couldn't get call forwarding, or un-forwarding to work properly on the N900 either. Call forwarding is, at least in my case (US T-Mobile), something that happens more external/on the phone company side. Phone manufacturers build in an interface that sends signals to the phone company about your call forwarding preferences and set them accordingly. Also, usually it can be an add on service/feature you have to have on your plan features.
Alternatively to the interface, the phone company may have "#" or "*" numbers you can dial to make these setting (#72 to turn on call forwarding...) but I hear the N900 has an issue with dialing numbers beginning in "#" (?). So finally, as a last resort, I took the SIM out of my N900, put in in an old Razr, forwarded my number ("settings", "call forwarding"), saved the settings, then put the SIM back in the N900. My calls are now all forwarded and I am not messing with N900's call forwarding because I don't trust it. To un-forward, I'll return the sim to the Razr, fix it, and back to the N900. Most Nokia Symbians I've owned had this feature under setting and it worked fine. Why an experienced phone manufacturer put a messed up one in the N900 I do not know. I do look forwarded to this being fixed on the N900 soon. |
Re: call forwarding
Hello all,
I have been calling with my provider (vodafone NL) about my problems with call forwarding. They state that my phone is doing this. After searching the provider website I did find codes to disable forwarding. So I put my sim in a other phone and gave the code ##02# and call forwarding as been turned off. Put the sim back in my N900 and now my N900 also says call forwarding disabled. So it looks like that my problem is solved (I hope) :) |
Re: call forwarding
Hello,
Here is the answer to call forwarding: First, I am from Canada and I am using phone service with this company: http://www.fido.ca/ The condition may be different if you are from a different country or you are using a different company. To call forward your call: 1.Open X Terminal 2.type «pnatd» 3.To call forward to number 14186562131 type «AT+CCFC=0,1,"+14186562131"» 4.To cancel call forward type «AT+CCFC=0,0» 5.To check if the unconditional call forwarding is on or off type «AT+CCFC=0,2» According to my phone company, *21*14186562131# is the USSD code to call forward. (http://www.fido.ca/web/content/faq/faq_call_forwarding) This doesn't work with my nokia. I tried ussd-pad and ussd-widget without any success. Let me know if you have any questions. |
