Re: Yaspot (spotify client)
Same problem, Yaspot does not work/login anymore.
If I use my laptop my premium account is working. |

Then reinstall Yaspot. |
Re: Yaspot (spotify client)
I have tried that also, but it did not help. Still login fails.
|
Re: Yaspot (spotify client)
i've done that too, no difference whatsoever
i just don't get why it's working for some people and not for others if we're all using the same app and the same libraries... |
Re: Yaspot (spotify client)
Same problem here (southern FI), Qtify one day just stopped working, Premium account only works in my laptop. The error is the same as already listed 'Client upgrade requi...'. And Yaspot simply does not log on (no error).
I am guessing Spotify has started somehow to block the usage of these 3rd party clients, which is a shame, as they haven't come up with their own. This just means they'll lose the money I've put there, have cancelled my subscription due to this. What a shame... |
Re: Yaspot (spotify client)
maemo repos have libdespotify 0.1, libspotify is at version 0.0.3 (which has been put to maemo repos with name libopenspotify.

My Spotify Premium subscription period is ending today but I still have Yaspot (and Qtify) working so I will continue my subscription (southern fi). Did you register your Spotify in Finland (by invitation) or did you possibly use some French postal code or something with no invition needed? Re: Yaspot (spotify client)
Just wondering. If you have used the official mobile app before and Spotify someway thinks that you're still using the old version (the symbian application has atleast updated a while ago). So if possible try to login with an official mobile app with your login information and try yaspot after that.
Atleast my yaspot is still working perfectly here in Finland and I use the official app on my symbian phone from time to time. |

Re: Yaspot (spotify client)
For those with problems: Are you logged in spotify on PC (or some other device) at the same time when you try to log in with Yaspot? Perhaps despotify can't handle this kind of situation and thus the authorization fail error?
I haven't used despotify based clients so I'm only guessing here, please don't hit me. |

I have had no problem even if PC is connected to Spotify when logging to Yaspot. Chainreactions idea is worth of thinking as a cause: Quote:

Also, have tried it when logged on PC, and without, same results. The point about the official client is something worth trying - luckily I have a symbian phone in the family, so will load up the client in the evening to test it out, and will report the findings here. Like the layout of the "Spotless" by Ministeri, looks really good. Current Qtify is too crammed for mobile use (for example when used in the car, too small buttons, etc.). |
Re: Yaspot (spotify client)
Would it be possible to run the desktop edition of Spotify under wine on the N900?
Edit Update: Me so stupid. |
Re: Yaspot (spotify client)
Ok - installed Spotify to a S60 phone, works great by the way (client is well thought and made). But ... despite having logged on to Spotify with this, both Qtify and Yaspot both fail to logon.
But, I will continue running the Spotify on S60 for the evening at least, to see if it would send an ok to Spotify to allow me as a user also on N900 (if that's what's blocking me). Will send an update once succesfull or when I give up :D |
Re: Yaspot (spotify client)
no luck so far, this sucks....

Re: Yaspot (spotify client)
Same problem here:
authentication failed: Client upgrade required I'm not logged in anywhere else, with extras-devel (and all packages installed from it) up to date. |

Unfortunately this means that the actual interface to the server has probably changed which could mean a fair bit of work reverse engineering the new protocol. |
Re: Yaspot (spotify client)
Just re-registered, and both qtify and yaspot work again :D Let's see for how long...

Re: Yaspot (spotify client)

Re: Yaspot (spotify client)
I've had problems installing yaspot, but now I (foolishly) removed qtify, and can't get either to work.
After I apt-get remove despotify qtify then try apt-get install yaspot I get an error that there are unmet dependences: yaspot: Depends : libdespotify (>= 0.1maemo3svn488) The if I try apt-get -f install it asks me to install libdespotify, I say yes, then I get an error about it being unable to overwrite the libdespotify that's already there. Does anyone have any ideas what's going on, please? I've read this thread, and done some googling without success. |
Re: Yaspot (spotify client)
Please, can someone help me? Work have blocked Spotify through the network, and I'm seriously missing it.
|
Re: Yaspot (spotify client)
Buy iPhone or Ipod Touch. Sorry :D
Haven't seen any working spotify client for a while in N900... :( |
Re: Yaspot (spotify client)
spotify request a client update now....
I don't think yaspot or qtify are going to work now..... spotify on n900 is gone :-( |
Re: Yaspot (spotify client)
It seems that Spotify checks the current client revision when attempting to login. I am currently working on an alternative Spotify client for the N900, using the libopenspotify library. By modifying the client revision number to correspond with the version number of the official Spotify client, I was able to login to Spotify successfully..:)
