Who wants to help start community hosted extra repositories?
So I have now lost count of the number of times I've tried to apt-get update and extras/testing/devel simply do not work.
Would there be interest in settings up a mirror of the repositories like Debian/Ubuntu do so they worked more often? ~Jeff |

mirror is a good idea, this could also include to have a location based fwd to the closest.

I've had at least 10+ occasions on which the repos fail to update. Right now for instance they are not updating.

There is a project to start public Mirrors

Re: Who wants to help start community hosted extra repositories?
I'm assuming that this is down due to the previously announced server move. Normally the repositories are effectively mirrored around the world. It probably makes sense to hold off on any discussion of this until after the server move has completed and things have stabilized.

Anyone interested ? |
Re: Who wants to help start community hosted extra repositories?
Actually I'm thinking about creating a VMWare/Virtualbox virtual machine for mirroring maemo's repositories, ready to deploy and distribute it...
So it will be quicker to deploy and maybe we'll se more mirrors quickly... What do you guys think about it? |
