[Request] webcam application
 

hi all,
I've done some searching around and couldn't find any mentions of a webcam application. at the moment the N900 can't do video calling with skype, so i was hoping someone could create an application to turn the phone into a web cam so can use it with skype on my pc.
I guess it would also be cool if it worked using wif; but if it's only poaaible with bluetooth that will still be great.

Actually amsn for Maemo 5 does do webcam and will work with msn clients using a computer, so far as I know it's the only tested working app for the N900 with webcam support. And I totally agree, Skype vid would be great if someone's willing to make it happen.

You can do video calls with the xmpp (jabber) inbuilt client too.

Yeah, that is an awesome app :)

It will also act the screenoutput as a webcam for the pc :)

That would be quite awesome to double up your N900 as a wifi based webcam on demand...

Well, this thread talks about using the n800 (probably scales to the n900) cam as a PC webcam, but under linux:

yes i am using windows.
i already use qik, but it.s not good enough for if i'm skyping on my pc. mobilia is pretty much what i am looking for .
will it be possible to make this for N900

I think people didn't understand what Mobiola Webcam app (for the Symbian) actually does....

It will turn your Mobile Device, into a Webcam. So if your Pc doesnt have a webcam, you can connect your device with Bluetooth/Cable/WiFi to use it as a webcam for your PC!
