£29pm.

I'm paying the same, £29pm, but for 300 minutes/unlimted texts/unlimited internet with zero mention of a fair use policy in the T+C.

Love the username, by the way! That's if it refers to Noel Coward in the Italian Job...

oddly i notice it says iphone only!

Am I hallucinating, or are they actually trying to sell "unlimited wi-fi" as part of their contract? :(

"I think we know our own products, sir..."

Three problems with that -
1. It's not your product. It's Nokia's.
2. You don't even have the N900 instore.
3. You clearly DON'T know bugger all.

Nice to hear that you've converted another iPhone sheep, though! Well done.

... i don't think he'd even considered there was something better than the iphon before ... bless!

... your shop lady sounds like a proper tool ... most of the ones I've spoken to have at least been willing to conceed that he n900 is a little different after a bit of a lecture from me!

When I bought My n900 from MPD the advertised deal was Vodafone: 600min, 250 texts & unlimited internet access.

I have signed-up to Vodafone's online billing and services page and they show: 700 minutes + 250 Texts with Mobile Internet and Vodafone Passport !??

Which plan do I have? I already called "customer support" and they seem to give me different answers depending who I speak to!

.. you are on the MPD contract as stated ... BUT the unlimited net is limited to a fair usage of 500mbs ... the vodafone passport is jst about roaming ... unless you're abroad it doesn't apply ... you should also have free landline calls with that contract I believe ... no wait that's the £35 contract ...

NB ... MPD mentioned nothing about fair usage when you brought the contract ... so you can get trading standards involved if VF stsrt charging!

Got a say that while everything here in Finland is very expensive we do get good deals from the operators looking at these priceys. :)
Can you get real unlimited data in UK? In here it's always unlimited we just pay for the speed.

You have a lot more than me then... but is it 2 year contract? pay much for phone? i really didnt want a 2 year deal... i paid £58 for the phone i think.

And yes. im heavily into minis as well as nokias lol.

i did wonder about the wifi thing..... i think as its an iphone contract (notice equiv 3GS 32GB was £280 on this contract) so thay plug the wifi hotspots like O2 used too........

Re: N900: Your first bill ;-)

Yepp, it's a two-year contract, with a "free" phone. I think it's only just dawned on me how long two years actually is. Damn.

Two years ago I was still singing the praises of my N73, and boasting about how advanced S60 was. The damn thing didn't even have wifi.

I pay like $70 a month for 2 lines on a AT&T family plan and have no data at all just like 550 minutes + free night and weekend. (me and my mother never use the phone so we have like 3000+ roll over minutes)

It would cost me $15 a month just for Edge service and I dont think its worth it for how often I would use it.

do you have the FAN discount with AT&T? it helps if you're a student or work for a certain company

Please note ... if you're on a vodafone iphone style contract with 1GB web usage that's an absolute limit ... if you go over you will be charged ... it's totally different to the "unlimited" 500mb contract which has a fair usage policy that doesn't automatically charge fo extra usage ...

I send about 10-50 sms per month and I really don't call people, they call me. I usually use internet via free wlans (well they are everywhere in Helsinki) so not much data transfered to be billed. I estimated a phone-bill of 10€, but can't know for sure, daddy pays the bills ;).

Re: N900: Your first bill ;-)

I got on tmobile prepaid, $1/day for unlimited text/data (I dont use voice). I am pretty much constantly roaming too. I paid $7 for the sim back in novemeber, and when I got it, it had $30 credit on it. I have not checked my account, but it is still active and working... and its supposed to be $1/day no matter if it is used or not. It is prepaid, no name or cc attached to it....

I think my service is just going to be free forever, which is fine with me. Since I roam on att, I only get 2.5G, so my usage is not that great, but I am usually within WIFI range anyway. (I hope they dont read this and hunt me down)

Re: N900: Your first bill ;-)

AT&T Free Msg: You have exceeded $1,000 in data charges this month. Your data service has been temporarily suspended. Please call AT&T at 611.

:D

I don't have a data plan, as I'm on AT&T and can only use EDGE, and my location doesn't have 3G anyways so it doesn't bother me. What does bother me is somehow my connection became switched from my router at the house to AT&T's network when I was trying to get bluetooth DUN working with a desktop.

I haven't seen the bill yet, and I pray that won't actually be on there. I had to call up and talk to the service rep who was unnaturally understanding. That's the only reason I can laugh about it...the CSR acted like this stuff happens all the time and it shouldn't be to hard to fix. If I get a bill that is anywhere close to $1000 I'm going to go nuts. Been a longtime customer to AT&T and always paid on time, so if they can't overlook this one screw up of mine I'll start looking at T-Mobile.

Re: N900: Your first bill ;-)

Oh my goodness ... hope AT&T continue to be understanding ... that's some major phonebill!

I tried it but the 3G signal was too weak much of the time, it only got 2G or "no data service" and that is really too slow.

Re: N900: Your first bill ;-)

My plan is with 3. Thanks for the update, Nokia :)

My £10 monthly bill gets me 1GB "unlimited" data, unlimited texts, unlimited calls to other people on 3, 300 minutes elsewhere.

In all, pretty good. I haven't reached the 1GB allowance yet as the firmware hasn't been out long enough :)

Yeah, but my last contract was £35 , so woulda made no diff. Plus i wouldnt of had any internet or phonecalls :)

You're welcome! tis definitely worth checking which you're on since Vodafone charge so much for going over if it's not an 'unlimited' plan! I need to up my usage again ... am letting the side down this month with barely 250mbs used so far! ... night!
