Device showing no space left but hardly any apps are installed?
 

My device is showing as 16.3mb free for 'Installable Applications'. As I understand it this partition should be 2GB, therefore I've got 2GB of applications (or data) installed here? It was at 1KB earlier but I removed a couple of themes so I could continue to receive text messages.

By my calculations in the App manager I've got less than 50mb of apps installed.

So where or where is the other 1.9GB of stuff coming from? I can't think there is more than 100mb between texts and emails (and it's probably more like 10mb!).

How can I see what's 'in' here and what's taking up the space? In the past I have used a couple of testing/devel apps, but not for a while and I've flashed a number of times since. I didn't experience any problems with them at time anyway.

It sounds as though you may have some apps from devel or testing installed which have gone to the root filesystem rather than /opt/ (which has the 2GB limit). The root file system is much smaller.

If you go to a terminal and type "df" (no quotes) what is the output?

It shows rootfs at 70% but to be honest, I don't understand the rest.

My Xterm info is posted on the other thread if anyone can help? Or merge threads?

I had a similar situation and I figured out that I couldn't access the 2GB partition anymore.

Try cat /proc/mounts and check if /dev/mmcblk0p2 is mounted. If it isn't , there is probably some fault on it and you could try to fix it with

fsck /dev/mmcblk0p2

Unfortunately, I couldn't get this to run. It says unknown directory. But if you look at what comes up when typing df on my other thread mentioned above, mmcblk is mentioned but I don't know what it means!

last time I ran "fsck /dev/mmcblk0p2" the thing got f'd up and I lost all the data on it and had to re-flash. was SO lucky I'd made a backup!

/dev/mmcblk0p2 isn't mounted. Can I mount it without running fsck?

@Wes79 - Your mmcblk0p2 is mounted so I'm thinking we've got different problems?

YAY! I like to be different, but on this occassion I really don't!

I've removed basically everything off my phone now, other than the music and a couple of films that I put on MyDocs but I've not had any issues with these before. They have been on since day 1.

You can try, but there's probably a reason it isn't mounted. I'd recommend the fsck beforehand.
