Well, sort of.
My invitation (in the form of a GoogleTalk chat with a hyperlink) took the PC contact to a website where the counterpart program could be installed, but that program somehow does not list me as contact. From the N800 I do see the PC contact.

It seems that Nokia programmers are working on this as we speak.
Looks promising!

Yes, but it also seems that the PC client is a windows program only :-(

Yes, I have been through these steps (with some small differences) and now eventually the N800 sees the PC and the other way round. When calling, it rings on the other side and shows the own camera view in small size but the other side's video/sound is not coming through.

I have repeated series of steps several times with different outputs and so my conclusion was that either the program is unstable or they are modifying it. Considering that the IN call invitation became live only today (it worked for some earlier) it is likely that changes are made to the programs.

Yes, it works OK for me between my N800 and my XP box. Once people on the XP side have installed the software and clicked the "add contact" button on the web page, you should get a sort of "accept contact from ..." in the contact menu on your N800: it appears just after the "send call invitation" and "set presence" options, but if you're not aware of it, you can miss it.

I am able to initiate from the N800 to my XP box. That works.

My question is can I initiate from my XP box to the N800. I can't find a way to get my N800 as a contact on the XP box.

As mentioned in another thread, I tried this two days ago. It worked (I sent the invitation from my N800, the other party got it through the chat, clicked the link, installed the software, rang me back). The video looked good, or rather, the video of me looked good for the other party.. he couldn't get the PC webcam to work with the software (it works fine with Skype). But we both heard severe voice breakup, and he also found that the PC software used some 98% CPU on his laptop.
So, all in all, it wasn't too useful because the voice wasn't good. We were on high speed good links, and whatever I did on the N800 (web browsing, internet radio, ssh, the works) didn't make any difference one way or the other, voice had exactly the same breakup all the time. At this stage I suspect the PC software part isn't quite up to it.

I am back like a bad penny.:)

I found one of my problems. The XP box that I wrote about was XP Home. I have a tablect pc which is XP Pro. XP Pro worked. It has N800 contact and I can initiate.

The only problem I have is that I cannot see the Nokia camera on the XP box. None of my systems have webcams except the Nokia.

This still doesn't work for me either. I can see both the PC contact on the Nokia, and the Nokia contact on the PC. I can initiate a call from the PC to the Nokia, and attempt to pick it up (which doesn't work). I can try to initiate the call from the Nokia to the PC, which doesn't show up on the PC at all. The presence status on both the Nokia and the PC work to show when I'm there, when I'm away, etc. ... So, still not working for me. Nokia got back to me and told me it may be due to my web cam not being supported (this doesn't seem to be the issue), or a firewall issue - but since I can see the contacts in both directions, I dont' think this is it... Anyone had any further luck with this?

I got video calling to work fine this morning between my N800 and my Tablet PC - with one exception. I can place a call from my Tablet to the N800 and it works fine, but when I call my Tablet from the N800 I get ringing on the N800 but no call is ever actually displayed on the Tablet.
