Universal Inbox and One Button Access to Inbox
Hey Guys,
I am coming from a blackberry.... And while i really enjoy the n900 i am looking for something a little more easily accessible for email... On a Mobile internet device i really shouldn't have to go through 5-6 button presses to get to my inbox.... Email, Internet and Phone hold sacred places in MID/phone devices; should be extremely easy to access.... I also have multiple email accounts (at minimum personal and business) i dont want to have to look at each inbox separate... The client should allow me to view both email accounts from one inbox and when i reply it should know which email account to reply from.... Is there a way to enable universal inbox and one button access for email? Edit: Could Shortcutd add a feature to enable inbox access via the camera button or something? BTW, I am talking directly to email not the screen that allows me to choose which inbox to go to.... Thanks! |

FWIW, the Droid has that built into its native email client (combined inbox view)...it has issues, but works out of the box like you want it to.

Hence the reason I wrote, "FWIW". Your wait continues.

Couldnt you just set gmail to go off and consolidate the mailboxes?
By the way I think the idea of one mailbox is truly horrible. I like to keep my work my work and everything else everything else.... To much scope for accidentally sending the wrong thing to the wrong person if I mix them. |

I use the universal inbox on the BB and have never had a single instance of sending the wrong thing to the wrong person, bc you can see who sent you the email, what account it came from and everything else... I dont see how you would send the wrong email to the wrong folks... |

Agree with need for shortcuts (on the desktop, from within any given inbox) to a particular inbox. It takes way too many clicks to get to an inbox or, especially, to change between inboxes.

It wouldn't take long to setup on gmail (web account settings), and test with the 900. |
