Re: Ovi Maps goes free for premium content (no N900 *yet*)
You've been able to do this on the N900 since it was released. It will still only be Ovi Maps (for Maemo) 1.0, ie with none of today's goodness!

Don't waste your time downloading the maps off the nokia page. Its just an old copy of what is already on the device.

I still love my n900 and dont regret buying it but it continually seems as if Nokia overlook the n900 device and community when it does things like this. I understand it is probably difficult to support 2 different mobile operating systems, but come on at least show us a little love!

I was planning to purchase the N900 after it's firmware got its first major fix. With this announcement, it is clear that Nokia views N900 users as beta testers for a future Maemo 6 product. Furthermore, it makes it much more likely that the upgrade path from Maemo 5 to Maemo 6 will be the same as the upgrade path from Maemo 4 to Maemo 5 - nonexistent. I'm not giving up my N810 but I am reluctantly giving up on the N900 and Fremantle. :( |

OK now I am actually fuming
If the below is the case, its flat out wrong - you buy the flagship device and arent even considered for an upgrade.: Quote:
My Lord, SOMEONE teach Nokia how to do PR - What statement is correct? What is up with Nokia, how did they get tosuch a dominant position with their incompetence. |
