Side question: in the new OVI maps did they move the current position placement? It is ******ED to have that displayed above your current location--ESPECIALLY if the app only works in landscape. There is hardly any room to display what's ahead. Who gives a **** about what is way left and way right? |

Re: Nokia to offer free navigation??
I don't know how to feel about this. I bought my n900 knowing that navigation was going to be weak or non-existant. I choose it over the Nexus One because I saw that I could do 95% of what Android does as well as a ot of stuff Android doesn't do. That and Google has an almost-contemptuous attitudde towards the Canadian market.
As I see it, I bought thw device as is; knowing the navigation wasn't there. If it does come it's a great bonus, if not I'm back where I started, which is not a bad place. Though if Nokia releases Maemo 6 so soon after 5 and expects me to shell out another $600 on a device it's more than certain I'll be getting a Nexus Two instead. |

Well, I don't know. It was already confirmed that it will come for Maemo.

Another reason for me to keep my talk and texting phone and N800 and see what they do with maemo on the N900's successor.

Re: Ovi Maps goes free for premium content (no N900 *yet*)
Wouldn't we be better served by asking for/working on getting full Google maps support? Nokia's management's got cranial-rectal insertion syndrome, as with anything to do with the N900.
