Not crashing for me. It is not still working. When I press R there are square showing selected color, but I no click is handled when R is pressed. So it is useless at this moment.

to be honest i really liked the initial version that had the stripe menu at the top (aka normal pc menu, non hildonized).

Make empty file with name gtk_menu under .mypaint, and you will have 'normal toolbar':

touch .mypaint/gtk_menu

Check do you have this installed:
apt-cache policy liblapack3gf

if not, install it and report is there any difference.

I already have it installed...

When I try to run mypaint from terminal I get this:

What is google.protobuf? The previous version 0.7.1 worked properly. I now have the newest version (just updated)
liblapack3gfs seems to be installed.
Anything I could have missed?

Re: Mypaint-0.7.1 for Fremantle

Just did a revert to the first version, and that works fine (appears to work fine even when launched from the menu).

Did:

apt-get install mypaint=0.8.2-1maemo1

and got a really nice version with a strip menu bar, opening windows and full default functionality (which i prefer to the hildonized version)

apparently hildonizing the app (which i don't see a point to, since it removes functionality or at least makes it harder to get) pretty much breaks it for me.

the only thing now is to stop getting updates to the thing, i prefer to leave it to this version.

EDIT:
To keep a certain version run this as root:
echo mypaint hold | dpkg --set-selections

To remove the hold:
echo mypaint install | dpkg --set-selections

I believe hildonizing is necessary to get a wider userbase on Maemo/Meego - think of it as a simple/advanced mode. I tend to use keyboard shortcuts anyway...

If you want the default (advanced) menu just leave a file called gtk_menu in /home/user/.mypaint/

I would also like to take this opportunity to thank Aapo for bringing 0.8.2 to extras-devel and merging the changes from 0.7.1! It is nice to see the ball rolling at last with more people involved to get this port working. Thanks - all users too!

@anders_gud: just a quick question: what should the gtk_menu file contain? or is it just an empty file?
