Re: Mypaint-0.7.1 for Fremantle

From most of the apps I've seen, the icon problem is there. But I'm not certain if you need a reboot or first launch to get the icon going. Either way I think you guys are doing a stellar job and if any of you are in NZ I'd be happy to buy you a beer (or drink one for you guys :D)

I agree, with or without the icon it's one bomb off an app and you're doing a hell off a job making this work. I like my new drawing/sketch tablet :D

e: Now with icon again after update to maemo 12 and a reboot before it showed ;)

Re: Mypaint-0.7.1 for Fremantle

OK, I had uninstalled the whole package, tried to use the codes given to install it from terminal, it started giving me errors about dependencies and stuff...so I wake up this morning and see that a proper package has been uploaded with the dependences !!

My question is, with Extras-Dev enabled, I cannot find MyPaint in application manager? Any Idea?

Cheers
Jackie

Thanks again.. and again.. for help!
There are great people here :)

Yes, now MyPaint 0.8.2-1maemo12.. installed.

I just Uninstalled previous version and Installed new one.

(Notice that it still not destroy your previous .mypaint folder..
because it is already created, I think.
So your custom brushes are safe and shortcut keys)

- There is now Desktop Icon for MyPaint, thanks.. it looks better
when you are making new utube videos.. example :D

------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Anders!

How can I help this pressure sensitivity thing.. I really want to try
to help somehow if this could be improved (if I have a time).
Even it is still highly usable now and I get along with it.

And of course next I want to Blending Modes to the Layers, or
even Brush :D. I have heard that there is something going on about this.

David Revoy | Blending Modes
http://www.davidrevoy.com/?article25/mypaint-request

--------------------------------------------------------------------------
But "Lock Layer Opacity" be even more usable at first
Must find out how hard these are implement to the MyPaint.

Tone, my mind is glowing...

After just receiving my N900 after many months of agony, this was the second app I installed (after mplayer). Thanks very much. Will be a great way to re-discover my artistic side, especially on the morning commute to work.

No more battery drain.. :)
This is very handy pack... I like it more than big battery from Mugen Power. Capacity is quite big 3400 mAh! And this cost almost nothing.

This is bit offtopic, But I think this could be useful for all sketchers,
and painters with MyPaint on the location.

You guys are kicking major dev A**, no way anyone can complain about this app.

It's kinda of a dirty method, but I've just used killall hildon-home to force an icon update. I think someone posted a nicer cmd, but can remember what or were.

And again, thank you, thank you, thank you!

/usr/sbin/dsmetool -k /usr/bin/hildon-home

followed by

/usr/sbin/dsmetool -t /usr/bin/hildon-home

does the trick...
