I think this is more a "feature" of GV, not TOR. It may be the lag in the system (sip to gv).

a) There is no date in the timestamp on incoming text messages.
Today I received a text in Onering that was stamped 15:01 or something and I replied to it - without knowing that it was sent 15:01 the previous day.. I'd like something like a date or an x hours/days ago stamp,

b) If I have the ability to receive both sms and IM's from a person these message types both come in in windows labelled "Instant Message", confusing,

c) I wish there was a message log in Onering that was as easy to view as the one in Dialcentral (chronological list of all sms and/OR transcribed vmails.

a) on N900, they do have dates. Don't know about N8x0. If it was an old message (read) TOR shouldn't have downloaded it. If it was new (unread), that could be an issue.

b) TOR integrates into the IM system. That means all messages in TOR are treated as IM's. The sms's from GV are IM's to TOR. The only difference in messages is the system they come in on. TOR would always be am "sms".

c) I don' t think the IM systems are setup to do that, so TOR wouldn't be able to either? Keep using DC for that feaure?

Sounds like DC is more to your liking than TOR.

I think I have the API for canceling calls, so I could look into this. Feel free to file a feature request.

@epage: So is the no-date an OS2008 thing and if so can it be added to the GV sms message time-stamps?

I noticed the same issue a few days ago.

On my n800 I see this too. I've had messages I got last year that come in as brand new sometimes. I just happen to know that the person has not sent me an sms. It hasn't happened recently though.

I noticed a bug I introduced in 0.7.11 and just pushed a fix out as 0.7.14 to the autobuilder.

Can you have multiple google voice accounts logged in at the same time? I have one for home and planning on using one for business needs. right now I have the forwarded to email, but would love to have both register.

Is the call back number changeable on the fly so to speak like dialcentral. Often I wish to make a call from home and want my GV number to show. its perfect switching the callback in DC! Thanks for answers, looking to install .14

In theory you can have multiple accounts configured.

What is presented in the UI as your "nickname" is your callback number and can be changed on the fly. I wish I could offer it as a selectable list but can't.

Well to be honest that's not going to be too much help to me. I will however still have dialcentral installed so I guess its not a big deal as I can do it easily from there.

*Edit. I'm not sure I follow the whole polling times formula. Not that I think its wrong, I'm just not able to figure it out. If I set it to normal mode, how often will it be checking for voice mails when idle, vs active? Ball park number would suffice how often is the longest amount of time to pass before checking again? I have seen some info on the front page but I think you commented changing things around for the pooling and want to be sure. You also mentioned configuring polling times, not seeing that option either. give me a shout out when you can no rush :)

Which part isn't going to be too helpful?

Voicemails: When "available" voicemails update after every 2 hours. They also update a minute after a missed SIP call

Texts: When "available" texts take at most 10 minutes to update. When you've received or sent a text it updates at first after 22 seconds and then grows geometrically (22, 24, 28, 36, 52, etc).

Contacts: When "available" update every 12 hours.

I mentioned in a psot on the Dialcentral thread, the only Maemo 4.1 bug filed is that you can't configure The One Ring, including its polling times. This made me decide to move to polling times that favor battery or low latency.

There is a debug mode in which you can force an update to happen.
