I'm working on releasing a new version of TOR with the various requested features. In the mean time you will find attached a python script that can send messages.

For example

The TOR release will include it. It will be installed to /opt/telepathy-theonering/lib/tp_send_debug.py

Thanks! I tested this out, but I keep getting the debug prompt popping up when I send a command (I am assuming this is occuring since I am sending debug commands).

Also, I had some unrelated issues:
-Sometimes my message does not appear in the instant message box, but it still is sent (it appears on google voice)
-Sometimes the sender is listed incorrectly (it is listed as other random google contacts).

Hmm, on the desktop this didn't seem to happen. I think that was because it noticed the person creating the channel shutdown. I could experiment with explicitly closing the channel to see if that closes the dialog. Otherwise there isn't much I can do.


Message? As in using this command not just for debug stuff? I'm bypassing things a bit so I wouldn't expect the UI to work correctly.

I've heard general reports of aliases being wrong but have not ever found the cause if it is even TORs fault. I wonder if it is that.

I am referring to normal google voice messages (not the debug prompt).

For some reason the "Use Google Voice Contacts" option has stopped working since the latest update.

As a heads up I noticed today that there seems to be some kind of bug with the GV addressbook. I'm investigating.

Any news about IPv6? I tried everything and I can't make TOR work over IPv6.

The issue was that I have a very nasty hack for how I get contacts. Google made a change and for the first time broke it. I've implemented a fix.

I've since made every place I apply these hacks a bit more protected.

I've only seen the build results for Diablo. I'm hoping that the Fremantle build queues are just a bit more stuffed. The changes are minimal. If people wouldn't mind testing it, I'm about to step away from the computer and would appreciate some feedback on the build. Some yays from people would be helpful because I'm planning on asking to short circuit as much of the testing queue as possible.

Since it looks like IPv6 testing is all or nothing I'm probably not going to enable it. It would then require someone to work closely with me to resolve the issue and no one has really stepped forward.

I'm not sure about the all or nothing? I have a hybrid IPv4/IPv6 connection that I use (only for 3G), and I can add an IPv6 only connection. Or do you mean the python implementation?

I can't do any coding (although I'm not afraid to make guided changes). I'd be more than happy to test and provide logs and feedback etc. if that would help.
