Is there any easy way to make update_now still update if automatic updating is disabled?

Hmm, so you had asked me to make them not update disabled items and now you do ;)

Within state_machine.py's "update_now" function switch from initialize to reinitialize. Since I added this for you, just let me know if you want this permanent.

So I'm guessing you want that to be reinitialize with passing to the debug prompt to only update texts?

I changed the update_now function to skip the if statement (so it doesn't check to see if the choice is disabled or not.

I'm going to play around with it a little bit, and get back to you though.

I have both extra-testing and extra-devel, so it should get the latest version. I just checked again and it has the same behavior. Using "SMS through GV" would create an IM thread in "Conversations" with the contact's number instead of their name.

And it seems like I can't "SMS through GV" to my own GV number (*** Unknown Syntax: [message content] ). I know it's silly but I just wanted to test :D, that could be done through the web interface btw.

Texting your own number is the debug prompt in TOR, so your messages won't get sent via google voice.

been using the newest update and it seems to be working well so far. I sometime still have the name display all mess up.. i.e. I send a message to friend with name "name1", he send me a message back, I resend message but now instead of displaying my phone number it also display "name1". If I send a message to someone else, the name still display "name1". It still works just find though so didn't bother me much. BTW epage, are you still looking into direct callout or you give up already?

also, I haven't use GV contacts for long time. I decide to try it again today but i still having issue with it creating separate contacts. Do you know how to fix it? I can merge the contacts, but when I reboot the phone the contacts separate again. Thanks

I'd like to implement direct-call but have been busy with some other things. I'm trying to finish up the DC Qt port. I had some things going on which reduced the time I could devote to Maemo development but I'm hoping they are wrapping up now. I think DC is now feature parity, I just need to comb through it for polish. Once that is wrapped up I have to decide what my next focus will be

• Features/bug fixes for existing apps
• Porting more of my apps to Qt in prep for Meego
• Developing new apps.

I would need to talk with some Maemo people but am always unsure what the best avenue is. Maybe I should prepare some questions to barrage people with at Meego Conference.
