Hey guys its mentioned that pr 1.2 supports portrait mode for browser but i already have it on my n900 without pr 1.2. As soon as I align it vertically, the screen flips to portrait mode. I read it somewhere on gsmarena comments that we can activate it by Ctrl+Shift+O.

yeh that was a tester but it will have proper support in 1.2 maybe window switch option.

If you have read even a couple of the 70 plus pages you will soon realise the following:-

• Nobody knows the date this release is due
• There is no certainty over what will be included in the release
• Size is unknown
• Nokia will never release any date until it arrives
• It is not late
• It is not early
• All information in this thread is speculation

When it is released there will be:-

• Disappointment
• Anger
• A list of bug reports
• Speculation over when 1.3 is coming
• Annoyance from UK Vodafone owners who are still waiting for the last update
• People complaining that PR1.1 was better

Thanks, that has reminded me. There will also be a host of threads following PR1.2 announcing:-

• Its now much better than an iPhone
• Pr1.2 has bricked my N900
• How do i flash
• Flashing does not work
• Should I change to the global firmware.

A host of posts complaining that the N900 has not delivered what Nokia promised and so I will be getting an:-

• Android
• N97
• N95
• iPhone
• HTC
• Sony Erricson

However there will be a few of us who are just using their N900 happily without issue and it does just what we want :D

Okay. Cool down. It's not relased this week and I would guess also not next week!

PR 1.2 SDK was relased and the Autobilder switched to PR 1.2 on Wednesday the 24th of March. So the developers have now time to look in their code and go them tru for big problems with the PR 1.2 Firmware. (there are big changes comming)

I guess they will give the developers some time to promote the new software versions to extra testing. So, this will take some time and don't forget: There is a minimum time of 10 Days to get a Software thru Testing and to promote them to the Extra repository.

Not every developer compiled a new version right on the 24th. So, calculate the needed time yourself to get everything ready for the release. :)

I don't know what the fuss is. Sure I want the update to come too..but I am not checking for updates every second..However I am checking more than usual so some anticipation has got me.

Incidentally I like knowing what new apps and games were added to the catalogues. However I have to peruse everything to know what's different every time. Is there any way to sort things by date added?

AppWatch kind of does that, when not hampered by repository problems :) If you just want to know about Extras, there's a web page for that.

i think if Nokia just tell us the date of each firmware being release then developers could also speed the process of recompiling the codes for the release date too. Also users can help testing the compiled apps as well.

What do you think?

The down side is their server might become overloaded from downloads. I can see why keeping it low help the updating server.

This is complete nonsense. How can packages be promoted to extras when only a handful of Nokians can test them, and that on pre-release version of PR1.2.

The update of the autobuilder was a mistake that resulted from someone's belief that PR1.2 release was closer than it really was.

I speculate that the update will come around April 10th due to something I read about new QT features being in the repositories on that date.........

I still don't get it though by refreshing the App Manager 6 billion times a minute will bring PR1.2 faster in your guys' opinion?

It comes when it comes... Heck, I don't even want the update to come just for the fact that the new menu stucture is going to piss me off..

... unless there's an easier way to create folders :D

if we refresh the application manager hard enough we could bring Nokia's servers down.
