I got it because of what it can and could be.
Ill make the same choice in the future, if its a open device, its a open device and I look over my options hardware wise and the ethics and moral by the manufacturer of the product in question.

Interesting.....I feel the Nokia N900 is the best mobile device made in the history of the company. So I this is my first Nokia purchase, I will watch future Nokia developments with interest.:D

I will not buy another product until I see what Nokia has to offer in 2011, if they still fail to attract me as a customer, then sadly after owning Nokia phones for a LONG time.. (1997 I believe was when I got my first Nokia phone) I will switch over to some other brand (HTC looks good)...

I´m happy with my N900 (my best Nokia so far) and will keep it for at least 2 years. If there is a good sequel to it then, I will buy it for sure.

Screw Flash. HTML5 is the future. :D

WebTV...lol That's been around for ages.

Kinda sad about the support maemo 5 is getting. BUT nokia packs they phones with so much yummy hardware kinda hard to leave. I remember always having nokia and htc phones my htc phones being my main phone and nokia is the "side chick" sorta speak. And after using both and how much htc lack in there hardware its no wonder why I didn't jump ship sooner. So no it will not be my last nokia phone but after the N900 mess I will be holding on to this phone much longer before moving to meego. Just til i see what kinda hardware the meego phone will have ;)

The more I think about the MyNokia thing, the more I'm tempted to revise my statement and say that I WILL in fact leave Nokia for good. But I'm not quite there yet Maybe a little more festering silence from Nokia, or better yet another patronizing damning statement from them, and that will probably be all it will take.

Re: Will this be your last Nokia product?

I came to the N900 from an iPhone 3G. I was utterly frustrated by the iPhone's restrictions, especially after I already had an N800 tablet and knew what a Maemo device was capable of.

I won't be needing a new phone this year and the N900 is just too damn perfect for my needs. I will probably get my wife the MeeGo phone. I'm more interested in getting the first 10" MeeGo tablet that gets released.
