Is this a clean install od pyqt (did you try to install it previously, and if you did was it from the command line or through the application manager) ?

Clean install via app manager ( i tried to install before also via app manager with similar results).

More promotion-mechanism funk. I promoted the dependencies manually, see if it helps (i.e. just retry the install).

Now i see PyQt4 Demo and PyQt4 Full Install, should I install the full version first ?

As the name implies, full install is harboring ALL modules and bindings. The Demo contains just a subset, the more commonly used modules. The two are indepently installable (order does not matter either if you want to install both). If you want all modules, do a full install. If you just want those that have a demo, go for the demo :) I was hoping the package description made this clear but apparently it needs a bit more refinement.

Trying to install PyQT4 full, gave error.

I uninstalled old PyQT4 Demo, install then started but failed.

App manager log shows

That's a bug right there (previous releases did not all have the xmlpatterns module). Fixed in -maemo7.

Tried to install the PyQT4 full via app manager.
Failed during install, did eat up 14Mb of rootfs.

Yes I have just reflashed my phone due sudden loss of space, now restoring backup.

I was going to try again with this but I think I will leave it for while just in case it was the cause of my problem.

Ok I took a chance and tried to install this again.
It uses 13,172 bytes of rootfs, why hasnt this been optified?
