Re: Mnemosyne for Maemo
I'm using 2.0.0~beta1 in a N800 (no keyboard) and I wanted to listen sounds but I had these options disabled on mnemosyne settings, maybe any newbie could need the following steps.
I installed Espeak (availble on repositories): espeak - CLI speech synthesizer (v1.43) afterwards to close and open mnemosyne I had the sound options on settings and the icon to play sound on the cards Thanks for this awesome app! |
Re: Mnemosyne for Maemo
Great tool!
Unfortunately, I don't have sound here :-( espeak is installed and works (e.g. with MStarDict). I also see the icon for pronunciation and also the settings in the menu, but when I click on the icon, there's no sound (for english vocabulary). nexus. P.S. Oh, the start screen looks different form the one here in this thread on page 1 :-) |
Re: Mnemosyne for Maemo
Does someone know what could be wrong and why sound does not work with mnemosyne in my case?
thanks, nexus |
Re: Mnemosyne for Maemo
Very good..installed but when try to import the file from http://www.mnemosyne-proj.org/conten...00#attachments
which is saved in document folder it gives (errno2) No such directory: '/home/user/.mnemosyne/default.db_media/images\\kukiaura.jpg but cards working except images |
Re: Mnemosyne for Maemo
I'm interceding for the 'export' ... I would like to be certain, that after my N800 is dead, I will be able to save my data and use it through any other application:(

Re: Mnemosyne for Maemo
I think I had the same error with cards including images, but I never tested again,

Re: Mnemosyne for Maemo
Thanks for this great app!
there's one question left for me. I downloaded a file with flashcards from the project site and importing went fine. But now I would like to remove them to start with my own cards. So, is there a way to reset everything? |
Re: Mnemosyne for Maemo
I tried this on N900. Thank you very much. Especially the UI is really nice. However, as it is, it is not really usable for me:
* There is no ability to update card files. When I try importing a newer version of a dictionary I just modified on my PC, I get "Error. This file seems to have been imported before. Aborting ..." It should at least ask me: Do you want to overwrite the existing date, Yes or No? * There is no ability to really manage card files. Especially, no option to remove a dictionary file. * Same for tags: UI should enable me to remove, rename them etc. Of course, real syncing would be even better, but not necessary, when the above would work. I would really appreciate it if you could implement these things. |
Re: Mnemosyne for Maemo
Thanks for the good words, and sorry for a long time silence in this talk, I was very busy.
Now I have some free time and I am working on merging upstream to our code. That means, that sync feature will be available soon, and also, tags managing. |
Re: Mnemosyne for Maemo
Just started using Mnemosyne on my phone, and I really like it. Good work!
I quite like the UI, pretty easy to use compared to some of the other alternatives. I'm only using the basic text feature, but I plan to try out sound and picture cards eventually. One thing I haven't figured out though is what the numbers on the right are meant to mean. Difficulty? Right now I'm just clicking any at random to get to the next card. Anyway, thanks for all your hard work, and I look forward to any updates! |
