Is there an app for n900 --- font changer
hi there anyway of changing the font for the n900 , there are some really good fonts out there and installing/using a different font can really personalise the feel of the phone
i was thinking there must be a way via xterm replacing the standard font with a different font of the same extension or maybe an app that installs and will swap the files at users choice , could take it further and let the app back up the original font so that it could be replaced to default at any time by the user sorry if its been discussed before hope everyone is smiley in maemo world :-) |
Re: Is there an app for n900 --- font changer
i want to change them too was thinking of replacing:
nosnb.ttf nosnr.ttf nosns.ttf nscnr.ttf for my own font, ( 4copies of the same font renamed as those above) and putting them into: usr/share/fonts/nokia (overwriting the ones there) this will probably work, but dont want to be stuck with them, incase i cant change them again (that was the case with symbian) but on symbian i could put them in fonts on memory card, and remove memory card to disable them |

Create your own fonts.conf in your /home/user folder.
Don't go replacing or deleting your system fonts. |

Hi!
Do you know a way to increase the font size of the system and applications? they are too small. There is no way from settings thanks. LP |

Appart from changing the sizes, you can set the font. I personally use Droid Sans, 1pt lower than normal. |

replacing the system fonts cant be that bad, if it goes pearshaped i could just reflash the phone? |
Re: Is there an app for n900 --- font changer
I agree - it would be great to have an app to change fonts and font sizes without having to use X-Terminal. The method described in http://talk.maemo.org/showthread.php...ight=font+size works, but only up to a point. I have not been able to change the font size in the phone app with it.

CHANGING SYSTEM FONTS (easy guide)
http://www.mediafire.com/file/fegr2o23u4d/n900fonts.rar just put the 4 font files: nosnb.ttf nosnr.ttf nosns.ttf nscnr.ttf into: usr/share/fonts/nokia reboot phone and reapply any widgets back to the homescreen if they are missing the 4 font files apply to different parts of the phone, you could have 4 different fonts running at once, on different parts of the phone if you wanted here ive just included 4 copies of the same font 'alba' and renamed them to the above names to apply a different font you must reapply the nokia original font first, (there included here) and reboot phone, then apply your font files and reboot http://img63.imageshack.us/img63/6828/screenshot01f.png http://img63.imageshack.us/img63/9904/screenshot00e.png (turned out to be just as easy as its been over the past 10 years using symbian, just a shame this guide wasnt available to me before now, with out all the warnings about not messing with MY phones files incase i brick my device 'which i do regularly anyway!' and without all the techno babble talk that seems to go way over my head!) |

Re: Is there an app for n900 --- font changer
BTW, install the Plastic Theme! You can put all the disired fonts in the nokia file (see post) and you will able to choose from them in the Plastic theme settings. There is no need to re-name them.
