@fake: My university ordered 6 stands a while ago, at my suggestion (I'm an undergrad doing research using N900s), and they arrived today. I must say, I'm impressed. They work better than I'd hoped, and are well constructed. Well worth the money (although I didn't spend it... :P). Ironically enough, we ordered an extra stand, and then two more phones came in today from Nokia.
Nice work, and fully recommended - if the pictures and video weren't recommendation enough.

I am also looking for a suitable stylus to replace the cheap plastic one that comes with our beloved N900. I so miss the quality of the N800 one...
So far I have bought two different ones on EBay. One is practically all metal and is also telescopic, but has to be unscrewed to be used and it hangs from a lanyard, and that makes it less than practical, thought it is still very nice indeed. The other is the one from the N97.

An all metal or wood stylus with a plastic tip covering would be fantastic. For it to be perfect, however, it needs to fit into the N900 stylus receptacle. If you make one, please let me know. I will buy at least 5.

Oh! Make it Bluetooth also. Because everything can be made better if you add Bluetooth to it.

I will see what I can do -- I was going to announce something today, but I'm not, due to unforseen flood-related circumstances. Hopefully tomorrow.

I am super-excited about it. I just need to confirm some things with a friend of mine. I am going to be gone the next two weeks, giving talks at Harvard and in Canada as well. My friend Matti will be handling orders during that time -- I want to be sure everyone is cool with everything, both him and you, and that all order fulfillment stuff is cool. That way I won't have to shut down the store when I leave.

Any plans to put felt or rubberizing on the bottom of the stands - where they contact the surface of whatever they are on - to minimize loud vibration noises?

Or am I just a ninny and that's already there?

Well, the non-slip coating is rubbery in a sense, but not padded. I think that may have been discussed, though - search the thread.

This new acrylic stand is non-slip but will probably still vibrate against your desk because the rubber bands are only on the back. One possibility I've been investigating is little microfiber mats that could be included w/each stand.

I would probably have to see a little more interest, though. Orders have almost stopped, so it doesn't make a lot of sense for me to do yet another redesign.

Any suggestions welcome -- I will look into more substantial stylii.

Just received my stands and stylus in today’s mail. I really wanted a spare stylus but figured I would order a couple of spare stands as I had misplaced my stand weeks ago. Quite unusual for me. So while visiting my son at college I asked him if he was using the 3rd stand I’d ordered. He pulled it out of his coat pocket and said he kept it there but quickly and graciously handed it over when he learned mine was MIA. :) His stand has since been returned--mine had fallen out of a bag of charts in my vehicle; the weather warmed up enough to clean it out.

My black acrylic stand is gorgeous and the stylus is awesome. It looks just like the original except it doesn't say NOKIA and it fits in my n900 perfectly. No more worries about losing it!

So five stands and one stylus later, maybe Fake could run a loyal customer special on styli!! Three for $10 maybe?!:)

Yep, casio ex-f100 -- the bezel is trashed, too.

Does anybody know if that "touch window assembly" includes the LCD, or is it just the touch screen?

Hey fake,

Just noticed you smashed your phone screen and ordered a 2-stand pack immediately. I would be glad to add couple of styliis to the order if you setup that option.
Don't think you need some sort of clearance sale - your prices are good enough already. Maybe some freebie or special personalization would do a better trick.

P.S. Your case just reminds me of my e71 falling out of my hands from 3rd floor - spent $100 for spares and replaced the whole casing+screen myself. Shouldn't be much more than that for N900.

Hi,

I wanted to order, but I am missing some good information, and I am missing the 25$ Deal of 1 acrylic 1 wood + stylus.
I would like the option to add more stylus pens like for 1$ each or so, provided they are ordered with at least 1 stand.

I want a stand at home, and 1 at work, one acrylic one wood, both with stylus on standby.

You think you can arrange something like that?

The information I am missing : Does this come built? or I need to assemble it? (worried about it getting wrecked on the way here.)
