Well, and if they made it competitive to Apple's current offerings feature-wise (ie. fully functional media player, maps/navigation application at least on par with google maps, etc). They (nokia) are off to a great start with the N900, but there are just too many issues that plague it that have prevented every single 'casual' smartphone user I know of from switching.

Don't know offhand, but someone posted the info here a while back.

All the Google hits refer to a RIM patent application:

My successful rate is 100% failure in convincing other people not to get an iPhone, not matter how much I have shown other phones is better, do the same at lower cost or better suit for their purpose.
Most of my friends still think N95 is not match to an iPhone in capablity.

Whether a product can take over the market is only partially because advance in technology but mostly marketing.
And Nokia's marketing is no match to Apple in US.
The satisfaction from Nokia users is declining while it's still growing for Apple

And once while you got people saying they want running Android on N900?

Maybe this is what you were looking for:
http://www.unwiredview.com/2009/10/2...ch-interfaces/

It's capacitive but can detect pressure points (sans resistive).

I'm terribly sorry, I had completely forgotten that US = World.

Newsflash!! Nokia IS the world's leading seller of touchscreen devices. And S60 5th is the leading touch enabled OS. Apple leads nothing, not even in the US, where RIM rules.

McDull, you should brush up on your presentation skills. I used to hold weekly presentations of my N95 vs. iPhones, and have a legion of converts that never looked back...

Without the unfair advantage of Coreplayer for S60, I still challenge anyone that claims the iPhone media player is better than that of S60. Which plays more formats, and can handle high quality vids with hardware accelleration? Or does being cute make it better? I think some people have no idea what they're talking about...
