Re: Received sms/missed call notification
I hope soon, really soon.
The package is quite ready , I just discovering some problem when you receive an sms and the screen is locked, then the missed sms will not be notified. Once that I fix this issue I will release a first version. |

What are you coding this on? It would be amazing to create both. 1- The Widget for the Desktop 2- The Locked Screen Notifications I am personally more interested in the WIDGET though. Omeriko also suggested a Status Area applet that displays the number of notifications, but while his effort is appreciated, if he can join this project that would be much more comprehensive. I really wanna learn QT and do some programming myself! |

Re: Received sms/missed call notification
I just seeing "Call Notify" and it's nice. I think it's in python and, since I'm coding in C/GTK, probably a merge will look hard. BTW I will be glad if omeriko would join this project.
I can make also a desktop widget, but (my thought) if you have your device turned on, then the system notification would be fine enough, am I wrong? |

You are not wrong. The widget just seems like a very clean and elegant way to present the info. For me, I hate the multi-tasking view of missed calls, messages and emails. It is tedious, freezes a lot, and is all over the place. The singular widget for data presentation would be best. If I could cancel the multi-tasking notification thing (when you press multi-tasking and the number of missed calls, emails and messages are each displayed in a separate window) I would do it in a heartbeat. But still, I am starting to get around to your line of thinking and perhaps the locked phone notifications you were originally working on is a more useful thing at the moment. |
