Hi My phone is technically unbranded, I got it through a Vodafone "partner" and my sim is Vodafone but it will take any sim.

Like I say the app reported no update but it was actually in the list :)

I've just tested and my HTTPS download bug seems to be gone. Only tried one file though.

I use Windows Server 2008 R2 and _ONLY_ problem with NSU is that I have to install it under XP SP3 compatibility mode. Oh yea... W2008R2 only comes in x64 form.

What comes to this new firmware update... it definately has made my N900 feel a lot faster, the application manager seems to perform much better without a day of wait for everything to show up. Also noticed that the menus scroll smoother now.


EDIT: Read wrong... you meant the maemo flasher and not NSU.

crap im on 64 and i was about to update it on a 32. it hasnt killed yet but hopefully it will soon. with the screen on its heating up so ill have it in front of a fan all night.

I could update it by uninstalling all the heavy apps ....update in process but I want to know how to free my roofts not able to do it though.

ya portrait mode is activated by default on browser, only apparent change everything else seems to be under the hood

I'm on Vodafone UK. no update available at this time nor showing in the list after checking for updates.

I think other people might have to activate the browser portrait mode if they haven't done that, but once they do, the browser seems to remember it even after OTA updates (not sure about updating through NSU, though). I, for one, have already activated it last time, and I didn't have to do it again after the update.

always have a dual boot, keep the old windows xp 32 bit aside for all ur flashing etc. thats wot i do coz a lot of things not just n900 use or require a 32bit windows to do stuff.
Or if ur a linux person u can have ubuntu :-P

If u end up killing it then u gotta use the maemo flasher tool to re-flash it and it should bring it back.

I just did my update here at work OTA....didn't have any problem except for the "not enough memory"....disabling the extras in the repository fixed that.

Things I noticed so far: faster browsing - transitions from one web page to another is snappier. Wifi connection is stronger/faster....not getting dropped off anymore.

Works in DE.. (T-Mobile SIM but unbranded). During update, a yellow bar error message pops up but only for a few seconds, couldn't even read it.

But no problems so far..

Updated in Finland with no probelm except lack of memory, but disabling devel did the trick.

Haven't really noticed much changes, but guess I'm not supposed to either. Come onnnn PR1.2

I can't really see how we will get PR1.2 at the end of Feb. We just got Pr 1.1 one month ago. Considering PR1.1 is/was MUCH more important because of the 3 operator sim card issue, it took them more than 2 months to release the fix/update!

Yes i do. Not getting a bunch of apps/games isn't serious. Not being able to use the phone because of a sim issue is a much much greater issue.

Strange while it was updating the firmware my phone pops up with a "Application error" but yet updated the firmware.

i've deactivated all of my catalogues except the nokia one.
rebooted, updated app-manager and it's still saying "not enough free space" although i have about 38 MB free on rootfs?! o.O
updating the n900 sucks for me ^^

It was fully supported for me after PR1.1 had to do ctrl shift o once and then it saved the settings id heard reports of people having to do it every time... :S cannot wait for PR1.2!!!!! although PR1.1.1 has made N900 a bit snappier!! (L)

just updated my n900

got it from a vodafone shop , it says vodafone black on the n900 box , it has fully installed and updated fine

hope other voda users get it soon maybe the servers are busy

edit
i did flash to global firmware on the last update so maybe this is why i have got it

I've updated in Serbia also. Everything seems fine, my rootfs is same size as before (48).

flashed it via nokia updater on windows xp.
had to download a 170 MB image.
and now i have to download over 400 MB apps and install them again... -.-'

my phone keeps saying I have to update it using the pc.. this happened with the last update aswell so I had to flash it

is there no way I can update it through the app. manager anymore?
