N900 As Wifi Hotspot - Definitive Yes or No
 

Hey Guys,

Can anyone give me a definitive yes or no on if you can use the N900 to pull down a 3G signal and share it over Wifi? I've read that people got it to work and that people haven't, whats the consensus?

If you have it working, mind posting the steps or a link to the steps that you completed?

look up joikuspot n900 on google. There should be a maemo port soon.

Already here. Been using it for a week or so, now.

Kills the battery faster than any other app in the market right now, but it works fine.

I personally don't have the .deb linked anywhere, so I guess I don't have a link for it.

But if you search for joiku on the forums here, you're bound to find it. It was released to beta a few days ago.

Forgive me if this comment has been/is being covered elsewhere, y device is running rather hot right now as a result.

Probably a result of the cellular chip + wifi chip both doing network communication which drives CPU usage up.
