Tex14 is one of those who has already been banned after numerous warnings. His former name was Guber99.

If you want to be on top of an issue, it helps to be broadly informed.

I have a feeling Tex14 only serves to prove Texrat's point.

Lol I've never been warned by Mod. Let alone being banned before. I dropped quite a lot of F bombs. But my post is relevant to the topic. I guess if you posting something out of the topic and irrelevant and abusing other forum members then surely you'll be banned :D

Good luck on this one.

what are all these promises I keep hearing about anyway. most of the news I hear are about upcoming firmware updates and such.

To me, this updates fell like what windows vista was to xp and if we wait a little while longer you get the windows 7 version. make sense? In other words the updates are just keeping us going till they decide whether or not to make meego work on the n900 or just make maemo 5 work better. Besides, I saw someone boot android off the n900 so I am pretty sure someone out there will make it work. so just sit back and relax.

First of all. Learn to write, or spell, or both. This is not 4chan, and it definitely isn't MSN messenger. Even the N900 or N810 have full keyboards, so use them.

Then, to treat your post in order:
- Who is "we"?
- Who was banned, when, where, and do you know the real reason behind it?
- Show me anywhere, any post, any person that has been banned for "showing them opinion about the future of the device".

Note: People who go in hundreds of different threads to say "feature x, I NEED IT, it doesn't work, Nokia are liars" aren't expressing their opinion, they're abusing the forums.

Let us not forget something which has been written a very, very long time ago compared to how long the N900 or Maemo as a whole has existed:

Quote:

One's rights end where another's rights begin
What I mean by this is that yes, you are entitled to your opinion, and yes, you are entitled to declare it, discuss it and fight for it. The Universal Declaration of Human Rights even says so:

Quote:

Article 19: Everyone has the right to freedom of opinion and expression; this right includes freedom to hold opinions without interference and to seek, receive and impart information and ideas through any media and regardless of frontiers.
What this means is that your opinion, and your expressing of it should under no circumstances prevent others from discussing other things in peace. Read this very carefully: Your freedom will never overrule anyone else's freedom. There is another way of expressing it: "Opinions are like arseholes, everyone has one. Now that doesn't mean you should shove it up my face, does it?"

On a side note, this forum, the whole of the Maemo Community isn't something that Nokia offers to you. When you buy an N900, you don't get a lifetime or irrevocable membership card. In other words: it isn't a right; it's a privilege. And if the administrators deem that you are disrupting the service for other people, you will be removed.

That's very nice, and once again you are entitled to your opinion, it doesn't mean we should listen to it. If a user is banned, it means he isn't welcome anywhere. It means his privilege has been revoked. Princeton defines it as "ban from a place of residence, as for punishment" and "expel from a community or group".

It is not upon the user to decide whether or not he has learnt his lesson. It is not up to you either. Circumventing the limits we put in place might technically allow you to come back. Tex14 is a prime example of this. He contacted us to ask us why he had been banned. He was allowed to come back, under the alias Tex14, but was warned from the get-go that he would be watched very closely. In my opinion, he's already gone too far, and should be banned again, but again, proving Texrat's point, this forum is so supple and so lax in its moderation practises that we allow him to keep polluting specific threads. Threads that matter.

So I ask you again, who did we remove without a good reason?
