[Announce] TipQalc - A tip calculator
 

Here is a simple tax, tip and total calculator that divides by the number of persons.

The user interface is designed for use with the touchscreen, no keyboard input is needed.

* Tax can be included in calculation or not.
* Will remember tip and tax settings between uses.
* Round the total or the tip.
* Basic input validation is performed (only one period, no leading 0's, etc ..)

Install :
* Install from the 'extras-devel' or 'extras-testing' repositories.

Are you planning on placing this into extras-devel? Or are you waiting for the addition of changing the tax amount first before you start put it into the extras-devel repo?

I'll put this in extras-devel once tax can be changed and I figure out how to get the icon and menu entries correct.

Hi !

I would love to use this application, but when I start it up, it crash. means progress bar indicated starting, but fail to start.

Can you help to track down the problem ?

coolice, run it from terminal and see what errors get spewed out into terminal :D - doing it that way means you can paste the error message in here and get quicker help :D

Ok, i did what you said, there is only 2 words written , nothing else :

"Segmentation fault"

This problem has been fixed in version 0.6.0. It was a problem with the .desktop file.

Yeah. problem is can not be installed as require PR1.2 . possible to have packgae bsed on 1.1 ?

For some reason, 0.7.x never work on my device. The app get opened, but after the 'Calculate Tip' title appeared nothing happened. Is there anyone else with the same issue?

Do you see the interface ? Does the app crash afterwards ?

From terminal, run 'tipqalc'.

Using 0.7.2, I get "Segmentation fault" error when launching from terminal.

And you are using 'my' binary from the garage site or did you install from the extras-devel repo ? Thanks for testing BTW.

I was using TipQalc from the App Manager, but I installed it from your garage and now its working. Good app.

just installed the app. would be nice if theres an option to enter tip% and number of persons manually, otherwise, great app! :D
