Re: [Annouce] HealthCheck - Hardware/System checker for the N900
As per usual i am faffing - the graphics are still probably temporary, as i'm having the usual nightmare with sylesheets,
but here's some examples. http://www.greg-roberts.com/downloads/hc1.png http://www.greg-roberts.com/downloads/hc2.png http://www.greg-roberts.com/downloads/hc3.png http://www.greg-roberts.com/downloads/hc4.png http://www.greg-roberts.com/downloads/hc5.png http://www.greg-roberts.com/downloads/hc6.png |

Re: [Annouce] HealthCheck - Hardware/System checker for the N900
When I open it, it goes to the loading screen and then it shuts off. Do you know what the problem is?

Re: [Annouce] HealthCheck - Hardware/System checker for the N900
Hmmmm i have a feeling i may be limited and need to get advice elsewhere.
In the first instance i want to use qt mobility / qt - so the app will work easily in the future. But i have a feeling QT will only display if the infrared device is available (not necessarily test it) http://doc.qt.nokia.com/qtmobility-1.0/qsysteminfo.html will take a further look at other qt methods though to see if i can get any more info. |
Re: [Annouce] HealthCheck - Hardware/System checker for the N900
Hi,
How exactly do I launch it from terminal? Also, I'm on the pr1.3 firmware and I have the BoostN900 patch installed and I also have an overclocked kernel. |
Re: [Annouce] HealthCheck - Hardware/System checker for the N900
hehe :) i meant healthcheck version.
in terminal: cd /home/opt/healthcheck then python healthcheck.py the paste the last bit of the output in here please :) |

Re: [Annouce] HealthCheck - Hardware/System checker for the N900
ShalinMilk, it's definitely an error relating to the hildon import, not seen it before so will try and find out more.

In the meanwhile, Here is the latest screen-shots of the new Healthcheck.
Happier with the graphics, yet i realise there are a few mistakes and layout issues. Hope you like! Lol 15 of them to be precise - extras devel was enabled :)

Re: [Annouce] HealthCheck - Hardware/System checker for the N900
Hopefully the new version works for me. How long until its release date?

well, thats a good question! i could release a version this week, but it is not 100 percent complete. kinda depends what people want. none of the sensor tests or camera tests are implemented yet. i suppose i could push it into extras devel and update there until i'm happy to push it to testing :) |
Re: [Annouce] HealthCheck - Hardware/System checker for the N900
Just a warning for anyone using the devel version, the upgrade tonight its a bit borked, (ie no icon, and just testing packaging) - will sort that out and tidy it up tomorrow!! :)
|
Re: [Annouce] HealthCheck - Hardware/System checker for the N900
hi, i have a sorta out of the subject question but its all about cpu health.
in htop the only 2 apps thats consuming the cpu are htop itself and xrog but with a small percentage, and there are a lot of apps (as hildon-desktop) and many other consuming mem (memory) but also with a small value (5,3, and so), is that the reason why the battery is drained so fast ? thanks |
Re: [Annouce] HealthCheck - Hardware/System checker for the N900
dump a screenshot up here so we can compare :) :)
|
Re: [Annouce] HealthCheck - Hardware/System checker for the N900
well 2.9.2 is up an in, also no icons, but i packaged this one.
Another massive thanks to MohammadAG for sorting out a) the packaging and b) my head las night! If you know what you are doing, you can still run the new version from terminal to takje a sneaky peaky... there are lots of things still to do, but was focusing on getting packaging in order so i can update quickly... |
Re: [Annouce] HealthCheck - Hardware/System checker for the N900
After upgrading..I lost HealthCheck icon..
How to launch this from X-Term? |

here's the screenshots
thanks for your help :) edit: when i took those screenshots the camera and the browser were closed and only htop was running ! |
Re: [Annouce] HealthCheck - Hardware/System checker for the N900
Wow, it seems you have alot of duplicates compared to mine :P
There is a kill command you can use - but will investigate after work.... i'm not using htop though, so will install it later and do a comparison :) |
Re: [Annouce] HealthCheck - Hardware/System checker for the N900
Wow.........
MohammadAG does it again ;) He's just calmly walked me through packaging, and the demo version is finally up! So in extras-devel is version 2.9.8 This is a preview version and i will update as i go. There are some reliances on it being complete with mobility being updated, but i'll do my best to update and change where needed. The quickinfo section is open for suggestions as to what the most needed parts are (cpu, battery, imei etc).... There are known issues ie.... Currently the battery status label looks blank (With that window charge, or unplug and it will soon make sense) The file window i've reduce to one screen, and is v small text, but i'm working on that.... The cpu screen finally has a half decent ui, but i'm probably missing some key info! Suggestions please :) The Cell / Phone screen has a combo box at the top right! (in case you wondered) The three tests included should howver work :) There are a few extra stacked widgets, all empty ish, i added placeholder labels, but will add to those shortly! Lots still to add (ie camera tests, mic tests, etc etc)... I also really need to work on the Sensor explorer UI!) - but quite proud of that one! ;) Enjoy, and remember, alllllll feedback is welcome feedback!!!! (Just include as much as you can!!) |
Re: [Annouce] HealthCheck - Hardware/System checker for the N900
Hello,
Thank you for the continued development. Are you able to change the desktop icon back to the previous icon with the rounded edges? The older icon still shows in the menu with it's rounded and glossy look but the new desktop icon is flatter(less glossy?) and square. Thank you in advance. |
Re: [Annouce] HealthCheck - Hardware/System checker for the N900

Edit! Just realised! I've only uploaded one sized icon ;) - therefore it's using the bog standard on! (So it's just showing a zoomed in version on the main menu one!) Will update that in the next build :) sorry! |
Re: [Annouce] HealthCheck - Hardware/System checker for the N900
Much apprciated for update ;)
|
Re: [Annouce] HealthCheck - Hardware/System checker for the N900
hmmm...awesome! swiping makes it easier.
oh......i have a 52% battery but healthcheck is showing zero....i believe a reboot will fix this. :D thanks again for this awesome app! |
Re: [Annouce] HealthCheck - Hardware/System checker for the N900
Thanks gabby!
The swipe function literally just detects a movement, so a tap will move to the next screen :) I originally thought that as an issue, but actually it works for me :0 ooo thats interesting on the battery issue. Can you let me know if it continues? Just working on the audio inputs at the moment, so that should be up in extras devel tomorrow - pending the build working again :) |

EDIT: oh.....here is what I usually do. i replace my battery when discharged (yep not using the usb charger). just an additional to help with trouble shooting. |
Re: [Annouce] HealthCheck - Hardware/System checker for the N900
hmmm interesting, i'm not an expert on the inner workings of kernels :|
Using qtmobility to pull the battery value out and it works with my power40 kernel.... Wondering if it changes where it provides the value from? |
Re: [Annouce] HealthCheck - Hardware/System checker for the N900
maybe it needs for cycles? just a thought :)
|
Re: [Annouce] HealthCheck - Hardware/System checker for the N900
For those on the ball 2 updates just went through, .9 was a bit of a screw up - as i left it loading on the wrong screen etc, so just pushed.10
QT on my machine has stopped being able to test, so i'm testing the audio-input (have a feeling it may not work yet, so it is a test!) |
Re: [Annouce] HealthCheck - Hardware/System checker for the N900
and it doesnt! oh well, think i better fix qt creator now! doh!
|
Re: [Annouce] HealthCheck - Hardware/System checker for the N900
