I'd like to know who wrote this and if the source is anywhere.

it will be great if during recording video camera will focus autometically and a GUI will be nice.

Works well, this is one of the reasons I bought an N900!
What I may actually like even more on this script than the video options is that it also allows manual focus for pictures :)
(simply push the camera button halfway, and after it has focused you can change it. Alternatively, set the camera to 'landscape' mode, since that will disable autofocus. But I am not sure if that doesn't also activate extra sharpening, which is not what you want)

the script opens up in a terminal window so its hard to miss it, but if you close the terminal window without pressing the x keyboard button you might end up with one of two problems,
1- you wont be getting the vibrating effect when you click on the touch screen.
2- the volume buttons won't work because they're already bound to do the focus.
to fix the problems just run the script and press the x keyboard button and everything will be back to normal :)

I'm already working on integrating the script into the notification area (up where the clock and wireless indications are), but its still in development. I won't release anything until I'm sure its working properly :D

IMPORTANT!

My camera lense makes a weird 'click' noise when I close the script and when the camera goes into or out of standby!....don`t want to destroy anything, but is that ok?Its not the .wav click sound, its a mechanical sound coming from the lense....hm
