Yes, look at this :

It's a Windows® program but it works also fine under Linux with wine.

Print? To file or to a printer?

I guess I could save to a file, but a simple screenshot utility should do the trick there, too.

Well I posted a cups install, and I was thinking it would be nice to be able to print a map and have a hard copy in my hand, but perhaps I can find a screenshot utility that will print directly, that might work also.

For WinMapper, is there a radius that can be related to the file size? because im downloading 25 miles radius, on ve hybrid and its a pretty huge file

If you download the maps, can you still get directions to point a to b?

hey , yesterday i observed that when i downloaded a route and started driving, it is showing two lines(it is kind of confusion to follow), i guess one line is for my driving direction to destination and another line is the return directions. is it true? in that case I do not have to download return route every time.

And one more thing, is there any way to save driving directions as text file or some other nice format like html? because i can use those files in case of MM crashing in middle of my driving or just before i start my driving.

(MM may crash for many reasons like latest updates to OS or some problem with libraries or bluetooth GPS malfunctioning etc)

The green line shows your route (where to want to go). The red line shows your track (where you have been). If you follow the route exactly, the red line becomes drawn on top of the green line. You can enable to disable the display of either (or both) in the View menu.

You can save routes as GPX, which is kind of readable. But if Maemo Mapper crashes, you can always just start it up again and resume following the route, so I'm not sure why you would need to do this.

Re: Maemo Mapper v1.4 for 770/N800

Maemo Mapper crashs quite frequently like when my old gps was out of range/powered out. I've bought a new GPS reveiver and maybe because I set it running at 2 or 5 Hz frequency, Mapper is very unstable : approximatly every 10 mn it crashs/closes, even without touching it.
So I know well how to keep my settings : just after I start a trip, I save the route into a file(to be secure), and close Mapper intentionnally. Mapper saves the current setting and I could relauch it without to be afraid : if it crashes, I relaunch it and it restore my start-trip settings/bluetooth connection.
