Nokia N900 Repository
 

Hi Guys,

I just updated my firmware manually. After the update, I noticed that I cannot access any of the repository except Nokia Applications, Nokia System Updates and Ovi.

Are the Repositories down? Or is the latest firmware stopping me from accessing these repositories?

Works fine for me, but doesnt mean that somewhere some are down.

Double check you have the right settings :)

App manager has been going ver slow for the last few days.

i checked and checked and checked. I am also located in England... so we should belong to the same region yeah??

Even "Maemo.org - failed to refresh"

Supposedly hehe - i think they may have a few different ones... are you getting any errors etc?

It just says some of the catalog failed to refresh or something like that... very annoying..

I even deleted all the repositories and added them again.. one by one.. still the same results

I was also getting the same problem, so i just flash my n900 and it works fine!!!

type ap-get update from the terminal and give output please.

actually i did that but in x term it says ,
W: failed t fetch http: //repository.maemo.org/extra-testing/dists/fremantle/non;free/binary-armel/packages 404 noot found (ip : 63.233.60.24.80)
E :some index files failed to download, they have been ignored, or old ones used instead.
do you think why is that so ?

It should be "non-free" in the repository definition, not "non;free"

it still not working,even i tried
apt-get -f install.........
it says ,
E: couldnt find preenv package
nothing is happenng outta here ..

No issues for me. I accidentally "sudo rm rf /*" on my phone today :@ Bloody hell.. Anyhow.. System reflash, all repo's are sweet :)

It should also be "extras-testing" and not "extra-testing".

I have a thought for some of you..
This has been an ongoing issue for me for awhile, have any of you changed your internet ISP??
I had recently changed mine and now it requires me to run through a proxy.. I didn't have my N900 configured for a proxy.. (is now/from today)

Seems like one of the issues is as mentioned by Rob1n, a spelling mistake.
But for me, it was a proxy issue for failure to fetch and install (apt-get).

allright thanks but i really dont know how that is gonna happen now ..
am i missing any repository ?
do i need to install deb file of preenv and then install by that method?:(

Well, all your errors have been with the extras-testing repository, and preenv is actually in extras-devel. Do you have that configured and updated?

I am also my repositorys dosn't work and can't update ever what do I do
and the same your problem
maybe the nokia dosn't know the resolve
i will die to fix this probelm

Hi, I also having issues, with the following Respos which are failing to update - Testing Extras, Extras devel nintentdo emulators and aMSN they all say 404 Not Found ?? can anybody help me out

simply delete the extra devel,extra testing catalouges and re-install them ,then try to update them ,but be careful with the ''extra-devel'' repository,enable it only if you know what you doing because mostly apps coming with that repository are not reliable or they have bugs ..

better go with pidgin messenger ,aMSN has still got some issues with it ..wait for next updates and dont mind to ask from forum ..you may reinstall the repositories and update them but careful about the extra devel repository ..have a look at wiki threads regarding extra-devel

i dont know why but there is something wrong with this extra devel repository cuz everytime i enable it and i try to run some apps ,they go nasty and dont run at all ,smtime they get stuck or page goes blank
any one has the same issue and also any resolve ?
and yeah i wanna know if there is any difference between extra-devel and maemo extra-devel ?cuz i am having both of them ..
help please :confused:
