To be Clear

The varient 205 firmware is the Vodafone own branded firmware fro N900 bought directly from Vodafone.

If you are using a VF sim but bought you N900 from any other source than a Vodafone Store (web or brick) then is should be variant 203.

Its such a pain that I cant get 1 single update done on my phone from day1 without a hiccup :(.

anyone solved this mystery yet with something else ?

I had the same issue - it usually means there's a conflict that App Manager can't resolve. I just ran "apt-get upgrade" as root, then rebooted, which seems to have worked without an issue. You could also try removing applications until you find the one that's causing App Manager issues.

that did it Rob. Thanks a ton !
I remember now I had to resort to this even for the PR1.1 update.
Is the app manager open-source ? something that can be patched ?

PS: no updates yet here on west coast.... from san francisco ,CA, USA

best place for change logs is bugzilla :D

There are never official ones, so viewing resolved/fixed bugs will be your best bet :D

good point, still not an official one - just collates by the community :D
(allthough... as the UK was delayed, there could be a possibility of something extra in the UK one? - doubt it though)

Seems to have updated ok, but it removed some of the image mods I did! :(

Such as the coloured network receiver icons, and the battery icons :(

Do I need to remod it?
