The best way to find the correct folder is to first create a new POI category from within the app and save it. You can call it whatever you want. After you save it you will find a *.upi file with that name in one of the map folders. The folder that you find it in is the folder you want to place your other POI files into as well. :) The coresponding Icon files go in "res" under "icons" EDIT: I have attached a zip file with a Red Light & Speed Cam POI that I produced so we can all play along at home. :) |

After copying the files with the Sygic program to the internal memory of your N900, take the usb-cable off, open file manager and select the mobile-maps-setup.deb file, or whatever it is called... |

BTW the file I provided has 2455 locations included in it. Quote:
If you load it in your local directory when you go to "Browse Map" point to say LA, hit the menu button (between "Options" and "Done") then select "Find Nearby POI", then select "Cams", It will find cams in LA. If you find yourself on the road in LA I'm pretty sure the cams will show up. They have for me when I am outside my home area in DC or NYC. Could you share the methods you used to convert a "file found on the net" to a useful Sygic POI? I have been working on and off for two weeks now trying to find all the idiosyncrasies of a Sygic POI file in order to post a "How to". Maybe you found an easier way. :) |
