Re: Nokia failed with N900
I think the problem here is the number of similar threads... Everyday someone is ranting about something wrong with the phone! No Phone is perfect and not everyone will like the N900 but it seems here people get off on the bashing!
Becomes annoying after a while as I for one want to learn more from the threads and have to weed my way through the naysayers and rants to get at the good information... I can understand why people would want to close some threads as they (like this one) provide absolutely no value to the community here! |

I wish people would refrain from leaping to extremes. I know this is almost free speech, but I don't enjoy the hyperbole. :p |
Re: Nokia failed with N900
I think we can all avoid 'annoying thread exchange' if everyone just infuse a shred of respect, decency and ethics in their posts.
Think before you post. Your phone != your pride I don't see threads devolving into flamefests if it's a one sided match. It takes two to tango. |

falls very short respect to what was advertised in the beginning and that fact seems to be clear even to Nokia that is slowly shifting the hype from the N900 being a phone to a more modest mobile computer as they recognized that they phone software is bad, immature, bug prone and mostly untested as for example the reports for airplane mode not turning off the radio shows. |
Re: Nokia failed with N900
Has Nokia marketed the N900 as a phone? I'm pretty sure all the material I've seen they've referenced it as an internet tablet with added phone functions

Re: Nokia failed with N900
I agree that topic could be something else but most of issues what you talked about are very real and it also makes me bit sad that if you take browser and perhaps conversations away from this device you got half done applications that miss functionalities that at least i consider as de facto in year 2010. But then again we have (went your frustration area) brainstrom where you can see literally thousands of ideas(basically just most of them is standard stuff that should not even be talk about because its imho waste of time).
btw. I havent seen any advertisements here in Finland :| Only in youtube. |

Re: Nokia failed with N900
I got hyped up, pre-ordered it, received it and absolutely love it.
Even now. It's a mobile phone. A great one at that imo. If there is a better phone available right now, I'll buy it. But I can't find one. Doh! If you can, obviously N900 wasn't the right choice. =P |
