I'm sure there are quite a few situations where you'd prefer portrait mode for SMS or scrolling through playlists. That doesn't change the fact that you can already write SMS and scroll through playlists as it is today.

It's still my opinion that developers should fix bugs and fill in missing features before they prioritize alternative ways of doing stuff.

Amazing advice i must say :rolleyes:

Reality is some of us would like portrait mode for certain applications on this device. Not something i'm losing sleep over hence the word 'like'.

Anyway...... Why?? I love n900, i'm just saying that have a portrait mode for sms could be better! HW keyboard is more usable, ok, but i do not understand why a portrait virtual keyboard is **** for you?? At the moment is impossible write a text in some situation and i think is not a good point.

No no nooo! If Nokia and the Maemo team included a portrait sms keyboard then you'd be right. Buuuuuuuut because they didnt, you are automatically wrong! And therefore "you didnt do your research"! Aaaand you "should have bought an iphone"...!! Geddit!! Geddit yet??!!!


But you are completely right, it should have a portrait mode for sms. +1 vote from me too.

Hahaha, agreed. Be carefull you dont have valid but differing opinions on the device.

The poll results will do the talking and from what i can see at the moment more portrait functionality is desired by many.

landscape SMS is crap. Every device has SMS in portrait except this one. I dont want ANOTHER phone. I want this to have portrait sms. I dont care about anything else in portrait. Just sms. Its a basic and pretty much standard requirement. Nice that some of you dont want it. Most would benefit from it and find the N900 a little easier to use!

Exactly. Or ur on the loo and quickly want to text someone. Landscape > Epic Fail.

agreed. Been a couple of times its slipped in the pint and only saved by the wrist strap!!! Thank goodness my glass was half full :)

I want to have portatrit mode! and why?? because all the nokia phones have this function! sometimes i feel like i wanna use my phone with one hand and it is so difficult!! More than that when you have one of the hands ocupied and you want to read a message or to send one you can't!! Let's say you're lost and you want to use the GPS Apps, I don't think that you guys wanna hold the phone with both hands to do that!

In a nutshell, Portrait Mode is a MUST HAVE function on the N900!!
