You know what's weird? This just happened to me the other day! I have an N810. Canola2 was working fine for years, and then all of a sudden one day about a week ago, it stopped detecting my removable card. I thought it was just me, but interesting to see that you guys with N900s are having the same issue.

Soooo, I got around this by creating a softlink in /home/user that pointed to my music folder on my external card. From Canola2, I just told it to find my music via this softlink. Maybe you guys can do the reverse and create a softlink from your card back to your phone memory?

I wonder what is causing this?

If your external is ext2, then maybe you can softlink in reverse?

If you installed it while your N900 was connected, MyDocs would be unmounted, and so Canola would not see it.

Try uninstalling it, and running Canola cleanup, then installing it again.

(You should refrain from using applications while connected via USB, especially Application Manager, and other applications that use data stored in MyDocs.)

I have the same issue with My N810 - Canola doesn't see the external card but I can use it for example with Media player. I think I had this problem before and I just reinstalled Canola which fixed the issue. Seems kind of stupid. I will try to find something from Canola logs if there's some hints what could be wrong.

I can't for the life of me find canola-cleanup for the N900. Is it in extras-devel? I enabled -testing & -devel & it's not listed anywhere for me.

Oops, sorry. I was thinking of tuning.

Perhaps...

Uninstall Canola

Code:

apt-get clean
Install Canola

Wow, you're fast :). The thanks was for the suggestion, now for the procedure & my results :).

I first tried to remove all the canola packages on my device, which according to 'dpkg -l | grep canola' was canola2, canolad, canola2-theme-flatblack & canola-thumbnailer. I then ran 'apt-get autoremove' which removed a piss-pot full of C**P & lastly ran 'apt-get clean' with gave no feedback.

Unfortunately now 'dpkg -l | grep canola' still shows canola2 installed .
Code:

rc  canola2 2.0.0-maemo1 Canola media player.
'apt-get remove canola2' says it's not installed, so maybe I'm just confused about the package status, what does 'rc' mean?

So I restarted the device, re-ran both the autoremove & the clean for kicks & my device IS NOT connected via USB, both the internal & external storage's are available. I go into the app manager & dive into -devel but Canola2 is not available to install . I do a search in the app manager & while I can see all the Canola add-ons it seems that it thinks that Canola2 is still installed but does not show up in the list of installed packages.:confused:

So how can I proceed? TX

I'm having the same issue.

Canola installs fine but can't see anything but the preinstalled Nokia backgrounds/images.

I thought it was because it was installed whilst mounted. So I uninstalled and then reinstalled unmounted but still no joy!

Canola Tuning keeps coming up as "unable to install".

Also, how do I do a clean up, the apt-get clean command?
