Re: New mBarcode release on its way

Do you have some code to read MECARDs or a spec sheet?

I don't know if the current 2D decoder handles vCards (it used to, not sure if we re-implemented it in the new plugin).

Re exporting contacts, what do you mean by this? The Contacts app can export contacts - or do you want to be able to read a QR code containing a contact and then give the option to either save the file and/or import it into the Contacts app?

Love it, Love it, Love it!

Awesome work guys, just what i, and probably lots of other people needed. Just one small suggestion would be to perhaps intergrate an option into the camera software itself, maybe a button on the side of the camera image? As much as i hate the iphone, they seem to have the process as smooth as silk, it would be cool if this were as smooth!
Great work, keep it up!

Is it possible to get integration with Google Goggles?

I'm afraid Google Goggles is closed source and does not (yet) have an open API either. Creating an image recognition engine, or finding an open source one might be possible, but building the database to match the images against is a huge job. I don't see this as possible for quite some time, unless Google opens up their API (they have said they are going to do it sometime) or someone starts up an open project with the same capabilities.

Thanks! I don't think the source code for the camera application is open, and I haven't seen a plugin framework either, so I believe this would demand some serious hacking. I haven't checked or asked anyone though, so I might be wrong. If someone knows anything different, please let me know :)

There has been a lot of talk about how to disable this in the forums, but I have not yet seen any solution. I'm not sure how the camera application is being started either (a DBUS message maybe?), so I haven't looked at this yet. There are some people talking about the same thing regarding the flashlight app though, so I believe we'll find a general solution to it some day :)

Did you investigate this earlier, lardman?

No, I didn't look too hard, but there is a Brainstorm idea to allow the user to choose which app to open when the shutter is opened, feel free to vote! ;)

Re. integration with the camera app - certainly, once the camera app is opened up (or replaced!) then I think we'd be more than happy to do that :)

Re: New mBarcode release on its way

I am not sure if it was mentioned before but mBarcode still uses the (now) deprecated libqt4-maemo5-* packages instead of just libqt4.
Maybe you can fix that as well with the next update?
Thanks :)

Re: New mBarcode release on its way

@DaSilva: All the packages were built agains libqt4 a week ago (as you can see here). Are you sure you are running the latest version?
