[Request] Audio editing application
Has anyone thought of / in the process of developing an audio editor?
Wouldn't have to be anything fancy, but be able to open wav / mp3's and do some simple cutting / trimming, maybe add effects if anyone is feeling brave lol. I've thought about it for a while, and I think it could be very handy especially for people wanting to trim audio files to be used as ringtones. |
Re: [Request] Audio editing application
as a musician I applaude this!
yes, any audio apps will be welcomed |
Re: [Request] Audio editing application
Just another idea, when finished editing, perhaps have an option to export / save as?

A port would be the way to go.
Although it requires probably more work than the average app as this kind of software tends to be feature rich with lots of menus/buttons. |
Re: [Request] Audio editing application
At school today I was actually thinking about this as I wanted some on the spot ring tones but had no way to edit my mp3s. I've never written anything practical and had some ideas but wasn't exactly sure how to approach this.

But more features are always more favourable lol. Not saying were looking for a sound forge clone on the N900, but anything extra is always a bonus ;) |
Re: [Request] Audio editing application
would this be easy to compile over to maemo ?
http://www.jokosher.org/ looks simple and would be good to use the multitrack support ;) |

After my uninformed quick glance at that list, I'd nominate Audacity, Ecasound, Sweep and ReZound to a first round of being looked upon buy someone who has any skills and knowledge, unlike myself. |

" If you have your nose in code much of the time, you are welcome to join in fixing bugs and creating new features. Jokosher is written in Python and uses the GNOME platform and the GTK widget set. The audio engine is powered by GStreamer, and we use Cairo for some of the graphics. Resources: " |
Re: [Request] Audio editing application
Hello,
someone announced to get audacity running with easy debian. http://talk.maemo.org/showthread.php...ity#post527016 "Originally Posted by alex-000 @ qole First of all, congratulations for the application that I installed about two months ago. Today I installed Audacity and I can edit my mp3 llistening the audio..." anybody else tried it? |
Re: [Request] Audio editing application
Great request.. Waiting for the app

Re: [Request] Audio editing application
Yeah, audacity runs in easy debian.
Tried compiling a native version of it, but the UI did not work well. |
Re: [Request] Audio editing application
I was thinking about it yesterday. Its a must implementation(I consider this as a missing thing from our n900) and as well a video editing application would be welcome. A simple one. There is no need for multiple and bulky apps. Waiting for something..
