Request: IM contacts widget?
Hi
I've just seen this photo of the N810 which shows a desktop widget with the status of the IM contacts: http://img202.imageshack.us/img202/2...blk34openr.jpg Is there such a thing on Maemo 5? I think it's way better than going to contacts, or having a desktop with the big contacts shortcuts |
Re: Request: IM contacts widget?
So, no one is interested?

Re: Request: IM contacts widget?
Still noone? I think it would be very useful but I don't know anything about programming..
It could be the same desing as the email widget, with green and red circles for the status.. I made a concept with paint :o http://img42.imageshack.us/img42/1029/concepto.png What do you think? |

I hereby express my interest :p

Re: Request: IM contacts widget?
Definitely would be a useful widget.

Re: Request: IM contacts widget?
I think I might like to develop this, I've been looking for something small to do whilst I gear up for my next mega-project. I'll post on this thread if I get something usable.

Re: Request: IM contacts widget?
adding contacts to desktop takes too much space?
e: the widget duplicates about everything you can do with normal os. sorting within different im account contacts would be only thing that can't be done with PR1.0 |
Re: Request: IM contacts widget?
@ossipena, I think they just want a widget that has a small list of currently online contacts. I'm not sure what you're getting at, this feature doesn't exist.

@ossipena:
Yes I think adding contacts is OK for your 2/3 favourite contacts, but not really useful for seeing quickly who is available. @tswindell Great news :) If you need help for anything let us know :) Maybe other ideas for such a widget: - add the IM protocol symbol (skype, gtalk, fbook...) on the right of the contacts names - when not connected, the widget could display our different available status that we have predefined in the "status bar" -> "availability", and a click on them would trigger the connection? |
