Editor porting request

I was wondering if some coder would be so nice and willing to port the popular 'nano' editor for the N900, as I am not very familiar with VIM, would be very handy be able to use nano in the terminal to edit stuff.

I'd like to see the old Scite ports updated for Maemo 5.

Please note that installing the Tools repo on-device is generally not advised, although I haven't personally had issues. You probably should disable it after installing nano.

I installed the tools repo so I could install traceroute, I didn't have any problems although it told me that the traceroute package was non-authorized or something like that. Of course I disabled it when I was done.

Scite can be quickly installed if you have easy debian. Works well.

Ah good idea. I'd prefer to run it natively but this can work for now.

Nope, don't like it, tried it but nogo. I am using joe for over 9 years ;-)

Kate on KDE, joe (and when joe is not enough: sed, python) in the terminal.

Cheers
