Anything new happening here?
I haven't been here for awhile. Just been using the X10 (Android) rather than fiddle with NITdroid lately. I stopped using my N900 due to poor Maemo being too buggy.

Steve, Do we need to use this new Multiboot thing? I like my old Bootmenu and don't really want to uninstall it. Lazy person here ;)
I'm happy to flash my kernel again, but want to stay in RD (Ubuntu) and want to use BootMenu (old).

dj_steve 2010-07-21 09:44

Re: [Android] NITDroid V2 Development Topic

nah multiboots required now as we will be moving totally away from the normal maemo kernels before long

kingoddball 2010-07-21 09:47

Re: [Android] NITDroid V2 Development Topic

Moving away? Will you be keeping compatibility with Maemo? :S

If you use Multiboot you'll still have support for Maemo since it flashes the kernel on demand.

So this is multiboot v0.2.5 that is needed or is 0.1.x still OK?

I have 0.2.5 but find that it doesn't like to boot back into Maemo after loading NITDroid. Takes two restarts and wont boot Maemo if charging.

Re: [Android] NITDroid V2 Development Topic

Trying to follow the partitioning section to try this and getting stuck already, could someone assist please?
I deleated all off the SD card and reformatted it in windows to make sure empty. This is what I did from the first time and the card has worked perfectly since.

umount /dev/mmcblk1p1
I get the following: cannot umount ........: No such file or directory

sfdisk -uM /dev/mmcblk1 << EOF
,<fat32>,C
,,L
,,
,,
EOF
I get the following: BLKRRPART: Device or resource busy

The disk is currently in use - repartitioning is probably a bad idea. Umount all file systems, and swapoff all swap partitions on this disk.
Use the --no reread flag to suppress this check.
Use the --force flag to overrule all checks.

way over my head and no idea how to get around this so any assistance would be most appreciated.
Another question, is is possible to split the SD card into 3 partitions and load NIT Droid across 2 and say Easy Debian on the 3rd partition and would it work with the boot menu?

Stephen

Re: [Android] NITDroid V2 Development Topic

well firstly this is wrong post for this. second you need to enter a number not the fat32 part. this is made clear before that step

Only solution I found is to reboot when that happens...then you should be OK....

Guys do you know how to make the accelerometer to work in games, it's not working since the last 2 updates. accelerometer only works for the phone auto orientation but for the games that requires accelerometer it is not working eg. labyrinth, abduction etc.
