Re: UAE4All Maemo Edition
DON'T DO IT AS ROOT!
You don't need root to do such normal things. Please do not advocate "if it does not work, try root" line of thinking. |

BUT When i tried them last night they only executed with root access. without root nothing happened.:confused: Edit Removed parts of previous post |
Re: UAE4All Maemo Edition
My most humble apologies to smoku and all who may have read my post #422 (before i changed it).
I can confirm it works without root privileges. |
Re: UAE4All Maemo Edition
/home/user/MyDocs is mounted with 'noexec' attribute, so normal user cannot execute binaries stored on it.
You need to move it to /home/user |
Re: UAE4All Maemo Edition
Ive tried both of the versions with Microprose F1 GP which worked with version rc2-12 and it doesnt load on either. admittedly it only loaded to the start of a race but it gets nowhere near that even. Any ideas Smoku?

Re: UAE4All Maemo Edition
Using Wiz n Liz as a base as its side-scrolling so really seemed to suffer from frame-rate issues.
Interesting fact, auto frame skip performs WORSE with Cyclone than UAE. Not so noticeable at stock speed but very noticeable when over-clocked. Both cores happily run Wiz n Liz without noticeable glitches with frame skip 0, Cyclone however pegged the frame-rate down as low as 10fps at some points, UAE still dropped in low twenties, if auto was turned on. Most importantly though, its the fact it dances between 17-50fps that means even when it works, it feels worse than just setting a frame skip of 1 and having a near-constant 25fps, on Cyclone or UAE versions. I think I already said in the FAQ to try manually setting the frame skip as I do not think think auto can ever provide a satisfactory result, its the nature of a frame rate that fluctuates. So far I'm not sure I can say anything conclusive except, Mr Nutz crashes on Cyclone. I certainly do not think its worth spending any time trying to improve auto frame skip when it will always suck compared to a stable frame-rate anyway. |
