Re: Take the official Nokia N900 Survey!
Completed, I also hope the aim of this is to improve my N900 I will be keeping for a long while due to the length of my contract with vodafone. I love N900 and the improvements we are asking for initially, pre meego etc should be delivered by Nokia, no exscuses, further to that to keep customers loyal the next platform/OS if released inthe next 8 months must work on N900 as if users are left behind unsupported this transfers into lost brand loyalty. My faith has been increased by this survey, tho would have liked for them to ask for e-mail address to advise of survey results/outcomes etc...

Re: Take the official Nokia N900 Survey!
Survey Completed. Hopefully this will speed up the release of the legendary PR2.0 & hadron collider capabilities

I expect Apple to tell me I'm not cool enough, but I didn't expect that sort of treatment from the Finns. *sob* |
Re: Take the official Nokia N900 Survey!
I forgot to mention in the comment box that they should add a "real" flash in next the phone version (with meego I guess), that would make the camera a lot better for low light use. Anyone care to mention it when you do the survey?
|
Re: Take the official Nokia N900 Survey!
I've taken it too, I noticed a few things pop up like business emails that hopefully means they have been listening to feedback so far, and there's plenty of opportunity to fire a few '1's (dissatisfied) at the maps application. Kinda not fussed on the whole design/face plates/fashion angle, hopefully they'll not be pursuing that :)

Re: Take the official Nokia N900 Survey!
done - i hope they listen
|
Re: Take the official Nokia N900 Survey!
Am I the only one who *****ed my head off about the calendar? I even pointed out in the text reply that because it's closed source maemo.org can't fix it.
I also suggested someone with half a brain and an n900 to try stuff out on be given the job of running the Ovi store... It is anonymous, isn't it? Or do I expect a longboat of angry Finns on my doorstep tomorrow? |

****. I forgot about the battery :)) although if it was in the questions I'm sure I've complained.

Re: Take the official Nokia N900 Survey!
Kathy, did you realise that bears don't count as real friends, and that your daily tea party with Dr Paw and Mama Snuggles doesnt count as going out with friends?
I only ask as I hope you didnt skew Maemo's questionnaire results on how horribly geeky and lonely we all are, or you may now be seen as the socialite of the n900, aka the Paris Hilton of Maemo. |

Jokes aside, I would like to suggest to those who are answering the survey to make their critics less emotional. Most of us work or worked for large companies, and probably some marketing guy will be reading the answers to compile it in a executive report. Emotional statements could be easily ignored, while complains with solid arguments have more chance to be considered. At least it is my opnion... ;) |
Re: Take the official Nokia N900 Survey!
Done.
Fired off a broadside about the USB and keyboard bezel issues, as well as the *dire* state of Ovi store and Maps. Moaned about the battery life :-) And suggested improvements for Calendar and Mail. Other than that, gave some high scores for the things I like about the N900 (virtually eveything else), including the community support ;-) |
Re: Take the official Nokia N900 Survey!
Done.
Good questionnaire in my opinion. Now just spread the word since the more people answer and give their opinin now when they have an official chance the more likely it is that there might be something actually done too! Thank you for everyone who have taken the time to chip in! |
Re: Take the official Nokia N900 Survey!
really loooong!
|
Re: Take the official Nokia N900 Survey!
Done, let's hope it had been an hour well spent
Complaints against Maps, nice and usable but poor feature and no sync app calendar, short battery life, mediaplayer clunky and slow, USB on wrong side and weak Great UI, great conversation and contact management, sometimes wrong clicks and missed calls, globally best device ever until today Anyway, I don't expect my opinion being too different from 90% of this forum users' one And last one... Q: What have been your disappointing moments with N900? A: When Nokia announced free navigation for every phone on this earth with a Nokia logo on its face EXCEPT N900 :D |
Re: Take the official Nokia N900 Survey!
thats one long survey, glad thats over.
lets hope we get something back next firmware. :) |
Re: Take the official Nokia N900 Survey!
I took the survey.:)
|
Re: Take the official Nokia N900 Survey!
I did my bit, my gripe is how such a powerful device lacks so many basic features. Kept it nice and civil, rather be constructive then abusive.
|
Re: Take the official Nokia N900 Survey!
Completed and asked better integration with Google mobile apps :) I want Google Earth running in this device.

I can assure you I did nothing to damage the geek quotient, even though I don't have a basement. Mind, taking that customer survey put me in the perfect mood for giving e-harmony hell in their customer satisfaction survey! |
Re: Take the official Nokia N900 Survey!
Quite good questionnaire. There are several things that I do many times in a day and the was nota that kind selection.
Put there the missing features in the wish list |
Re: Take the official Nokia N900 Survey!
Doing this survey using N900 + Fennec (nightly build) on a 3g connection is a pain. Switched back to microb but also in this browser it's no fun. It's a pain to bring the "sliders" into the right position. If you tap and hold the website moves never the slider! It always was just luck to hit for example 6 out of 10 points as answer for a question.
Please provide a "mobile version" of the interface next time. |

don-it..
rather long.. hopefully they actually consider our answers.. some odd questions.. like "do i feel like i would have less friends without a cellphone" lol a cellphone is not like FB.. its hard to have 'fake' friends in real life haha |
Re: Take the official Nokia N900 Survey!
Done the survey too! Was long, but hopefully will be worth while doing!

Re: Take the official Nokia N900 Survey!
I really liked this survey. I don't think it was too long and I got a vibe that it will really be used for something useful for these reasons:
- The questions are formed around topics heatly discussed on these forums and bugreports. - A few questions were asked twice. They do this to see whether your answer changes after being influenced by other questions of the survey. What conclusions exactly they can draw from this who knows, but there's a reason for them doing this I'm certain. - The offering of fields where you can specify what you mean and question forming is thought out to appease whatever you might want to say. For example in the freeword bit where you are welcomed to give among other things "improvement suggestions". Haha that sounds really cryptic now that I said it, but I just mean that I think our answers are really going to have an effect! :) |
Re: Take the official Nokia N900 Survey!
something else I forgot to add was how when ear phones are plugged in its really hard to type on the keyboard, maybe they should have movd the jack or even had 2?!
|
Re: Take the official Nokia N900 Survey!
done... now let's hope they read/listen... =)

Re: Take the official Nokia N900 Survey!
Done. Hopefully something useful will come of this.

I'm not thinking about a flash the size used in a proper camera, more something like what the sonyericcson K800 had (it took great pictures at only 3Mpix). On the outside it took about one and a half times the space the two leds on the N900 takes, don't know how much it required on the inside though. Obviously led flash is cheaper and/or easier to put in a phone, so I guess it comes down to cost, personally I'd pay a little bit more if I could leave my camera at home most of the time. |
Re: Take the official Nokia N900 Survey!
Survey .... done :)
I hope they hear our cries ;-) |
Re: Take the official Nokia N900 Survey!
They really wanted me to type in the whole About version number?? I stopped at about four digits.

I did it, hope it will help.....

Every survey should invite the responder for comments on the survey. This didn't.
|
Re: Take the official Nokia N900 Survey!
Did my part.
Remember, no poor corporate geek is gonna sit and read hundreds of long, emotional moans & groans. You sure couldn't pay me enough. So keep 'em short, sweet and easy to read or the poor guy (person) will keep hittin' 'delete' and your long rant will be electronic round file filler. Besides, a real live person might not ever read the answers. especially if they get thousands of responses. Might be simply scanned by a computer looking for certain keywords and phrases. |
Re: Take the official Nokia N900 Survey!
Done. I hope they don't take my bashing of Ovi Maps (as much as it deserves it) as any indicator that I don't like the n900 in general.
Anyway, Nokia if you are listening then FIX OVI MAPS! |
