How much longer for MMS?
 

I know that there are some busy folks out there devoting time to make MMS apps. But it's been sooo freakin' long waiting for MMS support for N900. I used to check maemo.org several times a day for any news on the functionality. But after a while gave up. Now I comeback once a month and still nothin'...

Does anyone know when a fully-baked app/firmware will actually be available for download? Seems like after a 1000+ posts on MMS threads there should be some progress...

So much for all the 'open source' hype...

there is progress, the fmms app works fine :D

But........ frals wants to get it to a decent standard before it makes it to maemo downloads :D

Did you really try to find MMS-related news on this forum? Nokia said officially they will not develop MMS support for Maemo 5. Never. No matter which firmware release. They feel fMMS is enough... and to be honest, I think it probably really is.

I know this concept might sound radical - but why won't you TRY it? don't fall off your chair please, I know it might sound strange - actually trying something instead of filling the forums with useless threads...

FMMS is available, up and running for quite a long while.

It works, and for me is perfect, there are a few niggles, ie, it is not 100% integrated in with the system, but it does work, i'm sure frals will be putting it into testing soon :D

He is getting good support from nokia, but at the moment he is also relying on all of us to help him... that also includes making your opinions in his thread :D - even if your ideas are not implemented straight away, best to be heard :D

Cant wait to see a version out in maemo downloads :D

yeah I mean, really, if you did the research, you'd see there isnt going to be naitive mms for maemo 5. So its been asked tons, and its been beaten to death. either use fmms, (help with its testing,ideas, and problem solving.) or just wait until its in a state to be put in extras. This is a community and we're supposed to help and support each other. Frals has done great work with fmms, and he even provides support for it when he can.... If you're looking to make a post about a beaten horse, theres a pr 1.2 thread waiting for a reply.

Well, aren't you a ray of sunshine. Instead of doing a pretty decent e-thug impression, read up a little on what is available. It won't hurt you.

just curious, are any of the recent builds optified? i hate uninstalling and reinstalling all of my packages to make room for new firmware

I would say that fmms is fully optified. :-)
