How to reset Maemo Mapper ?

Hi,

looks like i messed up my Maemo Mapper. The scale shows me 0.00km and i can't see anything except a white background.

so my big question now is how can i reset my Maemo Mapper totally? just deinstalling and installing it didn't helped.
all the settings are still there.

so i deleted this directories
/etc/osso-af-init/gconf-dir/apps/maemo/maemo-mapper
/home/user/MyDocs/.maps
/home/user/.maemo-mapper

and my settings are still there.

so how can i delete Maemo Mapper completely without flashing my N900 ?

Re: How to reset Maemo Mapper ?

gconftool-2 --recursive-unset /apps/maemo/maemo-mapper

This should do the trick. You probably zoomed out/in too much, I'll add a check so that it won't happen so easily.

Re: How to reset Maemo Mapper ?

yepp ok there is a strange tool which i could use to reset the app... thank you for that.

but how could i get rid of all the config files?
i mean i'm used to have files on a windows computer that prevent me to uninstall and install a tryout version over and over again to have unlimited try out time.... but i totally disagree to this procedure if i want to use (or uninstall) a free program that is also open source.
if i want to uninstall an app from my N900 i want to get rid of _ALL_ files and database entries...

or in other words:
i don't want to have some unused crap on my machine that waste storage space i could use for other stuff, especially if i can't swap my storage with a bigger one.

I see your point, but I'm afraid there isn't a way to aumatically do what you are asking for.

not even manually?

Re: How to reset Maemo Mapper ?

The way to do it manually is to run the command I pasted above and removing the directories .maemo-mapper and MyDocs/.maps
That's all!

Is there a way to reset the voice prompts (turn-by-turn, enabled after installing flite) back to english?

After the last update to 3.0+beta5, I am getting the voice in a strange language.

Any one else notice this ?

Hey there,

I am sure that the question have already been posted but I have a problem and I cannot find the anser anywhere.

I can't see the map when I load maemo mapper on my N900. I have tried to zoom out but still nothing....?

And how do you add the voice navigation on the application.

Thanks
